I could have went with other! because Nightrain is my all time favorite but it changes alot on mt mood. I love Better and Paradice City, but I had to go with Jungle! 20 years later and that song is still rocking hard!

I don't believe the people that votes for Better. How can a song we've only heard a demo of be better (lol) than a song like Paradise City or WTTJ which have had so much influence in the history of rock? Those people probably just vote for Better because "dis-s0ng-has-to-B-no1-cuz-nU-G'n'R-Roockzzz-omgomgomg!11!". Don't get me wrong because Better is going to blow everybodys mind, mine too, but I just dont believe the people that vote for it as better than songs like Paradise City or WTTJ.

I believe in 1986 there were people who liked paradise city or wttj heard live better than the then great 20 yr old classic rock songs.

And it's only natural that those who are into fresh inspiration take the better song over the oldies now.

Chinese Democacy Track List:
Better
Catcher in the Rye
Silkworms
The Blues
Madagascar
IRS
TWAT
Chinese Democracy
Oh my God
Rhiads and the Bedouins

I hope people realize that we are most likely "waiting" for 2-3 songs...All of which will most likely be leaked weeks before the album is.

Even if your alleged final track list were accurate (and it's not), we still haven't heard studio versions of The Blues, Madagascar, or Chinese Democracy.  There's still lots to look forward to.

There's no way 'Better' is better than 'Estranged' in my opinion. No way! Smiley

NEW POLL, what is better?  "Better", sex, or winning the lottery?

Man I am totally supporting the new album bro, "better" all the way!!

Guys, I hope you realize that Better is winning because people on the GN'R forums are purposely voting for it - just as you all are doing.  Roll Eyes People saying Better can't be a single now because too many people have heard it aren't realizing that if this were posted on RollingStone.com or another BIG site where thousands upon thousands were voting, Better would have a fraction of the votes it has in this poll.

Don't get me wrong - it's a great song. It's at the top of my iTunes playlist. But I don't think it's the best GN'R song and the general public would certainly never vote it as such. Millions of people have still not even heard of Better. With some tweaks it still has potential to be fresh when/if released as a single.

Ah. You mean the website for the magazine that just gave "Better" a great review?

Ah. You mean the website for the magazine that just gave "Better" a great review?

You're missing the point of what I'm saying.  Roll Eyes Somehow I guessed that would happen.

I just acknowledged that Better is a great song. I didn't say RS would dislike it. I'm saying that the song has not suffered from over-exposure and many average people across America and even across the world who aren't on GN'R message boards still haven't heard it.

People in this thread are complaining that this poll indicates Better has been heard by too many people and therefore isn't "fresh enough" to be a single. I'm saying it IS fresh enough to be a single, it's strong enough to be a single and it should be a single. Rolling Stone has a wider range of readers than the online paper for the Ohio State University, wouldn't you agree?

Someone posted the poll on MyGNR and HTGTH and all the regular forum users here bumped Better to the top of the list. If it were RollingStone.com, Better would be at the bottom because many average music fans who read papers/sites like RS haven't heard the song yet. Rolling Stone Online polls usually get thousands of voters. The Ohio State University would be lucky to get as many visitors in a month as RS.com gets in a day.

Giving it exposure in Rolling Stone is a good thing (they recommended it as this month's "must download" song) but I still don't think that means it's too over-exposed to be used as a single in the future.

Do you understand what I'm trying to say now? Or do I need to clarify it more?

I'm not bashing Better, I'm not bashing Axl, I'm not bashing GN'R forum users. If anything I'm defending Better because I still think it has potential to be a catchy single for Chinese Democracy and it'll be a good way of introducing the general public to the new GN'R. It's mainstream enough to have wide appeal and it's not too heavy or different to alienate people. It's more listener-friendly than TWAT, even though I think TWAT is stronger in parts.

The only song we've heard the final studio version of is OMG. The other ones are just demos og live versions. S? The Blues, Madagascar and Chinese Democracy aren't the only ones we haven't heard final studios of.

Even that is debatable. OMG probably won't be on CD anyway, so it's not worth worrying about.

I'm afraid that people have heard Better so many times, that when the album does come out, people aren't going to be as interested.

We'll see. Hopefully "soon" Smiley
Better is a great song, and if people love it now that we?ve only heard a demo, it will kick ass when we finally listen to the studio version in the record. And the same with the others. Wink
