The Plain Dealer reports that VELVET REVOLVER spent time at Lakewood, Ohio's Lava Room Studios earlier in the month tracking b-sides for ther upcoming album, "Libertad", just before heading into New York for the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony. According to bassist Duff McKagan, the band is no stranger to the studio. "We recorded the song 'Come On, Come In' for the 'Fantastic Four' movie soundtrack here and liked the sounds and the vibe," he said.

In other news, the first club date for VELVET REVOLVER's upcoming North American tour has been announced: Monday, May 7 at Seattle's Showbox Music Club, Tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster on Wednesday, March 21 at 10:00 a.m. PDT.

VELVET REVOLVER's schedule is now shaping up as follows:

More dates will be announced soon.

VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum revealed during the Camp Freddy Radio broadcast on Los Angeles' Indie 103.1 FM earlier in the month that the band has finished mixing its second album, "Libertad".

VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland told MTV.com that the new CD "definitely still rocks, but it's incredibly more musical. There's a lot more textures, and Slash and Duff [McKagan] have really sort of risen the bar. It just goes places that the first album didn't go."

The members of VELVET REVOLVER gave the induction speech for honorees VAN HALEN during the 2007 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which unfolded inside New York's Waldorf-Astoria hotel on March 12. VELVET REVOLVER also performed at the event in VAN HALEN's place.

The studio they recorded the songs at I think is owned by Billy Morris-he toured for a while with Warrant playing guitar-the studio is about 20 minutes from me-that's interesting-anyway, I'm looking forward to album, tour-I wished they would have put out the live DVD that was in the plans, though

Just like the "Coincidence" between the "Pretty Tied Up" single packaging and the "Slither" packaging.

Let's leave the conspiracy theories to Oliver Stone and remain on topic.

Thanks.

i would consider most of VR's song catalogue to be "B-sides", so this is not surprising.  smoking
