I think so! I believe all of us fans and even casual listeners around the world will buy it. I'm thinking it will sell 5 million copies worldwide the first week.

Get real. No way. Gun's n roses simply aren't as important to the world as they used to be.

I agree 100%.  The only thing I see this album getting is a Rolling Stone cover, and alot of talk on the radio.

I think the illusions records sold around 1,6 millions combined the first week in 91 and Guns isnt nearly as important nowdays.

Mayby they can sell 500k if the promotion is good. (a very uneducated guess)

In the end the music will decide

Does it matter how much it sells? Axl doesn't care too much, and we don't care at all. As long as it's out, I don't give a fuck if it sells one copy.

How do you know if Axl doesnt care that much.  I would think that spending millions of his own money and record company money and the fact that his entire career and legacy is on the line based on the success of this album, would mean that he does care.  If this album doesnt do well there wont be another album.  You dont think the band members who arent multi-millionaires dont care?  This albums going to sell alright, but major critics have panned the new songs, gnr's pr is pretty bad,  and who knows when therell be any promotion.  Fastest selling ever? haha.

First gut reaction would be no.

But I do think it will have high sales just because people are curious.

My thought exactly.

The only reason non-gnr fans will buy this album is to see what the world waited 15 years for. But i think most of them will be suprised at what they hear and thats how word will spread.

I think it has potential to hit high the first week 15 years of anticipation, and the Illusions sold 1.6 in U.S. alone. It may not be a long shot for it to go 5 million the first week world wide but realistically it is just a wish. I don't care if it sells only the 4 copies I'm buying for my family, all I know is GNR have the potential to shock the world and convert fans. At the concert in Michigan I saw alot of younger people attending between 18-28 so who knows? Obviosly GNR has not been forgotten or a new age is moving in also but... If it gets downloaded before it hits shelfs that couls spell trouble for all the casual sells. No doubt all of us hardcore fans will buy it, but it must not hit the internet befotre hand. It would help if Axl made all the songs flow in together and not mix them apart so much on the album, time of year evrything plays a factor but all I know is I would love to drive around this summer coming up with my stereo balasting Chinese Democracy.

Speed is not everything. Better be loved long than fast.

I think there're still pure music fans that buy albums for the music.

Obviously in the end the CD will end up being one of the top selling albums in a long time.
