i think theres good and bad to both but i agree in a way as its basically the same song.

I still think the drumming is the weak link in GNR.

I havent heard any drumming on any of the new tracks live or otherwise that makes me go "WOW"

I wouldn't say it's a "weak link" as much as it's really been non-existant. There are some good cases though, mainly Frank's drumming on 'Better' and 'Chinese Democracy'. Those stand out. I've heard Brain do some nice drumming on 'The Blues', though...

Not just the drumming, the bass is pretty anonymous too. Perhaps that is one of the reasons Frank has layed down tracks.

Not anymore it's not.  And the magazine sites that had posted the link have "comments" sections, which is where I was reading comments from both casual and not-so casual fans.  Most of it wasn't pretty.

You got that right. ?If the newest version of "Better" is any indication, my opinion is that it has far more to do with the mix than it does with Tommy. ?No worries there.

Sometimes when mixing an album, the mixer will make their own remixes of a song.  Many times this is experimentation to see how a tweak  or change may work in the overall sound of the song.  the song sounds much cleaner than the leak so I doubt this fan-made.  But if BBF says its not the final cut than I assume it's a studio remix.

Guys...gals...that latest version of Better is not, I repeat not the final version.  Come on people!  Don't get yourself in a tizzy.  Do you really think that cheesy web-site was going to have the final version of Better?     Personally, I hope a couple more f'd up versions of Better come out so the (ass)pirates don't know what the hell they're downloading.  They can call BloodyRoses version of IRS the final version too!  Maybe they'll dl My Favorite Pillow and White Christmas too...fuckheads.
