you know, if this is a joke, this whole thing about pitman being gnr and everything, let me tell you this: it was remotely funny in 2001. and i do mean remotely. now in 2007 it's just sad and worn out. you dig? but if you are truly the pitman fan you and your EMS buddies say you are then good for you, keep it up, i know pitman contributes alot to gnr so he deserves attention. but the pitman jokes going around on boards some years ago are DATED and extremely un-funny.

The drums are good, vocals terrible and the guitars are too low.

Unrelated to the quote above, I have always wondered, What's Dizzy's role in Better?  Does he do the Synths and Pitman does the techno sounds?

I would have pushed the guitars to the front more  I'll probably try mixing the 06 leak in with the new version for my own amusement.

I say they have added waay to much reverb and stuff.. Sounds abit like he is singing in a tincan.
Better sounds very unorganic in this mix.. which it does in the first leak too, but no way near this point.
And I would also like to know Dizzys role.

Maybe I'm confused, How do people think this is just somebody playing around with the original demo?  I mean some of the lyrics are different, you can screw with sound, but you can't change lyrics.

We do not know for sure how old the original leak of better is. it could well be this version was after that but before the 06 tour. I really doubt this is anything that will be released. The mixs is strange and something is odd about it.

I second that opinion, Pitman WILL steal the show. This new version of better shows what he is capable of and, secondly, its the sound of what the basis of the rest of the album is.

I think some people tend to forget that many GNR songs were radio friendly....I mean look at most of the singles and videos....

Better is radio friendly, still yet edgy and lord knows a lot better than the crap they are passing off as rock these days...

not really. I think its great.

It could be before the tour, but its still more current than the first leak. It has a lot more production on it, and to me it sounds similar to the Harley ad. I love the newly added harmonies and I like how they raised Chris and Dizzy's parts, especially in the part after Bucket's solo.

I think this is a pretty good basis to judge how the final mix will be. Maybe not as much synth, but I def think it sounds more "complete" than the previous version.
