I like it, really. You need to get used to it, but I like it, especially the synths. A little more guitars in the mix, and we got the first single.

holy crud, its frikkin' awesome. ?this version burries the other version. ?VR must be a little embarressed that their whole album doesn't measure up to one song by Axl and Co.

The intro sounds exactly like the info in the Harley ad.  There's a good chance that this is the same one they used for that ad

I think if they just turned up Buckets Guitars, took away the dumb noise in the metal section after Axls screams, and turned Robins guitar up Id be very happy with this version.....turn up the volume and let it rip..thats all

it's not up to the production.
it's up to the mixing.
nobody was saying that the last years leak was over produced...
well guess what, most of the tracks are the same... only a diferent, smoother mix, with some synth.
let it be... it's not the final version. all they need to do is push the guitars a little bit in the bridge///

I have to agree with the guitars being pushed up in the mix for the bridge, and intro. Other than that, this version fucking rocks. Fincks solo and Axl's vocals are so fucking crisp.
O actually dig the synth sounds that are added to this version, hopefully the guitars are louder though. smoking

Considering that Axl has said that the new album has arrangements like Queen it shouldn't be any surprise that it's heavily produced.? Any album that's been in the recording process this long is bound to be meticulously produced anyway
right on bro.

I just learned today that Axl band has a SYNTH player!
I though this Pityman dude was a keyboard player.
Way to go, Axl!

the guitars should have more balls... they're not that agressive or loud. Bucket's solo is specially to high pitched, i don't really care for the sound. finck's solo is awesome though.

the only complain goes to the volume and some of the guitar parts eq. other than that... i think it's cool, Axl's voice is a lil overproduced as well. the drums, synth and bass sound pretty good.

but if this is not the final version i'm expecting something better  ok

it is very clean sounding .. I don't believe its the final mix... I thought from the first listen it sounded much like the harley commercial. And well could be .

It's amazing how fast this thread grew.

Good points:

1). Axls vocals are more raspier
2). Richards outro solo can be heard better.
3). the backing vocals are better

Bad points:

I think everyone who's freaking out about the guitars being lower in the mix needs to take a deep breath and relax.  We've heard straight from the horse's mouth, i.e. people in the band, that there are multiple versions of each track.

Aside from a much cleaner sound overall and the addition a few electronic effects the song is almost identical to the old one.  Yes, the electronic effects are turned up higher in a few places.  But there's nothing to indicate that the final album mix will not have guitars turned up.

On one more positive note, I'm happy to hear that Buckethead's parts are still on the song  smoking

Yes, that's great. Buckethead is easily the most talented musician in this band.

This is really cool. Just think the guitars need to be slightly higher in the mix. But other than that  drool

Well, doesnt sounds like the other version pretty much but a bit weaker with a better solo. At least Pitman seems to be earning a wage in this.  Grin
