I think this could be fake. It is very conceivable someone lifted the chorus from the HD commercial and the sound effects from the instrumental version. A change in pitch here and there, some added backup na na na's and there you have it.

If real, this is very bad butcher job.

I'm not so sure.? There's more going on in the intro, the vocals are far more pronounced throughout, more effects during the mid-point breakdown, and a much cleaner mix overall.? My money's on this being the album version.? Just listen to the layered harmonies toward the end.? Boys and girls, I have chills.

The effects were audible in the instrumental version if I am not mistaken, just very hard to hear. The chorus is HD calibre, but the rest of the vocals seem oddly like the demo.

Again, I'm not so sure.  Check out the extra harmonies at the 4:10 mark.  Definitely new.

This can't be the final version, the demo is so much better. This one is too slow, and doesn't have the same edge, and the weird reverb or whatever around 2:35-3:10 spoils it. One other thing, the intro sounds stupid now. The demo was perfect, why did they have to go screwing around with it. Slash said the raw demos for UYI were much better than the finished album. If this is any indication, CD will be no different.

That could be added by an astute hoaxer. overlap vocals or simply record some friends. It's not easy.

Quote
After 10 years, your damn right it's going to sound glossy

People expect soft poppy rock songs out of Creed and Nickelback. Glossy fluff rock with turned down guitars is not what made GNR the greatest band in the world at one point. I hope this is a hoax some how because this is no different sounding than something a band like Bon Jovi would put out.

Hearing how loud and aggressive the demo sounded to hear how the final mix was made more radio and public friendly is dissappointing.

Are they new or simply remixed...listen to the instrumental version and tell me the effects are so much different. Back up vocals can be added very easily.

Chinese Democracy Is Coming Some Day!!!

« Reply #2007 on: February 20, 2007, 09:38:07 PM »

WOW you can really hear the SYNTH!!! Way to go Chris! All I can really tell is the vocals are way stronger, The chorus really picks up and can be heard, plus the song sounds slower than the past leaks. So Buckets parts are gone huh Sad

So do we know yet if this is legit or not?

I originally thought that was Tommy singing backup, but it's probably Chris.

Anyone else noticed how...unbalanced it sounds with headphones? ?Most, if not all, of the guitars are on the right, while the left is very synth/effect heavy. ?No bass coming throuh the left, either.

Now *that* makes me a bit suspicious.

The new harmonies sound killer, though.

I'm not convinced this is real - Something sounds "off." I mean, for the most part the changes are fine, but maybe I'm just too used to the demo.

I noticed that as well, I'll give it a true listen on my way home from work. My trucks sound system will rock this thing.
