i love the song except the robot masturbation in the last 2/3's. alot of people feel that way by looking thru the boards.

Sounds like a there's a Protools edit on Axl's voice starting from the 44 second mark when he sings 'To break the charms That brought me harm'? it's the transition between 'charms' and 'That'

The heavy breakdown in the middle makes the song for me. I actually enjoy it better after seeing how the band plays it with a lot of emotion and they seem to be having a blast while playing their own shit. I go with out the whole attack of the computers sounds tho.

Robin's outro solo, and Axl's last few verses are actually the highlight of the song for me...

I just have such high hopes for the finished, and polished album version of this song....I think it will be fuckin' too damn awesome... drool

Yeah the end verse kidna reminds me of the ending of Rocket Queen how it goes slow and shit.

the "robot masturbation" part needs to disappear completely or at least be shortened to about 2 seconds.  almost sounds like something added to the song just to justify chris pittman's exsistance in the band.  assuming Better becomes a single, that part will be edited on the radio im sure anyway.  for me, the highlight of the song is buckethead's first solo going into the 2:22 mark, and the sequence leading up to axl screaming "i never wanted you to be so full of anger!"  Better is definately the best choice for a first single.

this seems to be the song everyone refers to as the best of the new songs..........But would this song stand up to Appetite and Illusion songs when put head to head with them.....I mean I gotta be honest Better is great but it  just doesnt rank up with Appetite or Lies era songs..........I think it could fit in the middle of Illusion era songs...Not nearly as good as right next door to hell,coma, dont damn me, civil war, or yesterdays but definitely better than say bad apples or my world..............I just hope there is a song on the new record that blows me away.....Better is good but it doesnt blow me away
