Regardless of my previous posts in this thread, I had a very strong feeling that Robin wrote the great majority of this song. However, it seemed more like Buckethead would have written a piece like this, as I am a guitar player who has been listening to Buckethead long before I knew he was in Guns N' Roses (which was the year 2001). Therefore, I figured Buckethead was responsible for the main guitar riff (a very odd 4/4 pattern).

I have always supported Finck as well. Even before he looked like Jesus...

I love how they kept the robot spider sound that everyone seemed to hate .... but live is that being played by bumble or pittman on a keyboard sample?

The lil part that is all by itself , most people probably know what part i'm talking about.? ok

Yeah I think that part was best described as robots masturbating. I'm glad they kept, it fits nicely.

It does.

Its cool, its from the same raging campness as Sweet Child. Only GNR could carry it off and still come across as cool and aggressive.

Better is by far the best of the leaks so far, and certainly the only one which has the quality to be released as a single.

Well if the version you heard was from the 15th, the intro did get screwed up a bit.

That's nothing, you should have heard the intro to the 14th, that whole song sucked. The intro had the first 4 notes completely wrong, Axl's voice fucked up in the beginning, and the solos were messed up as all hell.  Simply put, it was a mess.

Axl wrote the lyrics, Robin wrote the music.  Buckethead played solos and fills on the song obviously.  I don't know how songwriting credit is exactly determined, it seems complicated.  Like Axl has lone credit for writing NR and Estranged because he wrote the lyrics and composed the melodies of the songs, but clearly Slash wrote parts for the song but didn't receive credit.

BH didnt play all the solos on Better. The solo at 3.40 is robin
Also solos dont mean anything for writing credits. Writing credits its 50% for the vocal melody and 50% for the main music melody.

Yeah, Robin is definitely the last solo.  But Buckethead is obviously the one on the solo in the transition, and behind the fills following and during the chorus

the intro sounded alittle off, but they played the hell out of the song and i thought it sounded awesome, i also recall the crowd being really into it as well

Yes, I loved it too. But it was still a mess. You can still love a song when it's a complete mess.  ok

At the first show axl even made fun of us in the front few rows because we all knew the lyrics to the leaked songs esp better since it was played first

From what I could tell, out of the new songs the crowd gave the best response to The Blues and Better

I was at all 4 and the 15th was the only screw up I noticed. The crowd was so frigging loud at some points I couldnt hear the band, though.
