The more and more I listen to this song the more "blah", it becomes.

It just dont do much for me at all. I am quite frankly flabbergasted at how popular it is with the online community. Its an ok song, not much more. I dont see much much better the final cut will be, this is a good quality demo.

Could be fun live though.

Do you think it could reach Number 1 Single On Billboard Chart?
No chance, Not while 14 year old girls control everything that makes the top 50. TWAT has a chance at top 10 but not 1.

I think you're wrong. If it's publicized a lot and those 14 year old girls think that its cool, then they'll vote for it, and it'll get to number 1....

Plus it'll get all us votin' for it!! Grin Course it'll get to number one! smoking

Better is a brilliant track but there are spaces for it to improve

- backing vocals are not up to much
- holes in the texture which strings or keys could cover

otherwise stunning.

Axl gives writing credits to Finck for Better, I think that Buckethead wrote it, do you think He was sort of making an inside joke by giving the credit to Fink?

I always thought Axl wrote it, because I remember reading about some sort of association between that song and Beta.

I don't know.

Axl probably wrote the lyrics, Finck the music.  Not positive on that, just speculation.

It was A LOT of fun live, especially the harder part, but i agree with you, the demo we have is pretty average.  I just  Roll Eyes when people go on and on about this song saying its the "best GNR song ever" and other insane things like that.   rofl

But it was extremely amazing to hear it live.

I think axl mentioned it was a robin song b/c of how nutty people get about "who wrote what part".  I don't think he'd have any reason to lie about it.

I love how they kept the robot spider sound that everyone seemed to hate .... but live is that being played by bumble or pittman on a keyboard sample?

The lil part that is all by itself , most people probably know what part i'm talking about.  ok

I think it was Pittman but it was definitely a keyboard effect, not a guitar.

I dont remember the exact quotes so dont get pissy, but Axl made some comment about he wrote the lyrics and thought it would be funny to refer to it as the "Better Song"

The first night he was talking about people who think they know whats going on inside GnR and how they have all this inside information, how they know that the new members arent contributing, "Well that last song (Better) was written by Robin, and I hope that pisses you people the fuck off"

So yes, Axl =lyrics. Robin = music.

This was the song that I went into the shows wanting to hear the most, and I was not let down at all. If they can transfer the energy of the live performance onto a disc, we would have something really special.

I loved hearing this song live.  It was simply incredible, kick ass, powerful... I loved it... especially when Axl started ranting and raving.  Hell yeah... bring it on!!
