Falcon I see where you are coming from. I thought it was very cut and paste at first but now I think it's really unique and sounds awesome. Unique in that it doesn't flow like say a Queen song, in fact upon the first listen I thought it had no flow at all. I think this song is really a sign that Axl is willing to take it to the extreme and take risks.. I mean just that weird robotic thing happening shows that! It will be interesting to see how the final version sounds. If it's a single, maybe this 'demo' will be on the single. The final version may flow a little more and it might need to, maybe I've just gotten to used to it.

Dave I agree that Robin's solo is really good and suits the way the song is heading towards Axl's final verse perfectly. I just really think Buckethead's contribution really suits that part of the song and although it sounds a little overbearing, I think it rocks. I think this song is amazing in that it can accomodate and suit two totally different players and styles without the average radio listener even really noticing because the styles really suit the music at each particular point of the song.

This song is schizo but in a good way I think. Although I'm not sure Dave meant it so complimentary  hihi  Didn't Dave make that comment when only IRS (and TWAT?) were out? Before Better was on the radio? Wasn't he referring to IRS?

wow some of you must listen to these songs like detectives.

Well Better is a great song! The others I can understand why some might not like. But Better is just awesome.. a solid 9/10.

I remember someone who worked on the songs described some as 'fire and ice'.. this is surely one of them.. the tempo changes are just awesome.. at first it sounded a bit cut and paste but it was just something new to get used to. I can see how Axl was influenced by the style of Queen, not necessarily in the sound of the song.. but in the tempo changes.. like Bicycle Race for example.

better is my favorite new guns tune.... I only said detective because everyone does a battle of the lyrics..

Yep, Better hadn't leaked yet.

Keep in mind he was very complimentaryof Axl's voice on the demos and mentioned how much he was looking forward to the finished product.

But..

He (as do many non die hards) just thinks the music needs some work.

Since the full version of Better leaked, I have listened to it 104 times now. A personal record for any song.

I personally like Better more than any of their old songs... But not much better than their classics, those are excellent, but I still like this alittle bit better.

I doubt it, I don't think he would do that. His drummer can't possibly be not good enough to do that.... It would also sound "better" if it had real drums on it.... Drum machine will be gone, I can guarantee it... Well maybe... Wink

I think some folk forget there are demos, much like the UYI demos you can find.

if i am right, the drum machine is just at the beginning of the song, not at the end, right?

I think Axl would hire someone that said yes to anything he told him to do, and agree with everything he says
