I thought would have carried on from 2minutes to be a great song..It lacked direction and sort of disappointed me. ?Gun's tracks are usually concrete and don't have a lot of drastic changes. ?The heavy part kills it IMO.

the drastic changes usually flowed better....think of all the changes in Coma

it seems to me he's doing the same things GnR always did with different sound effects and diffent musicians

parts sound realy good and parts don't fit

Im gonna be offensive so I hope no one holds a grudge

to me anyone who finds any fault in "Better' is simply being nitpicky.

To me nothing is less than spectacular, even the masturbating robot sounds fit and add to the song.

the riff after the solo is AMAZING! this song is a 50 out of 10 and I rank it right up there with the classics without doubt and its easily the best song Ive heard in the 21st century.

HOLY MOTHERFUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am listening to the full version for the first time and this could be one of the GREATEST FUCKIN SONGS IVE EVER HEARD!!!!!!!!!!!

BucketHead is a fuckin GOD on Guitar

HOLY SHIT!

I dont know how anyone could complain about this, this shit is INSANE!
I agree. BH takes this whole project to an insane level. If he's not on this album, the quality is going to drop tremendously. Axl should give BH a blank check to come back to the band. Yes, he is that important. BH is the only person capable of killing off the 'where's slash' tormentors.

I decribed the middle of the song earlier as a "controlled chaos" Grin and dibbs on the trademark ok I agree D it is a beautiful thing beer

I dont think I'm being picky.. saying that the song is sloppy is just plain realistic.

Well said.  This song rocks!!  The buckethead part just makes the Robin Finck solo shine that much more.  I appreciate all sides of it.

Maybe a faulty Armani suit... with a missing arm on the jacket and a big hole in the crotch area.

Hey man, the tune needs major work and is missing something.  If you're saying its the greatest thing since sliced bread and is perfect as it is, then clearly I'm not the only one that warrants being called closed minded.  Its an unrealized potential, but lets not get ahead of ourselves and call it the cure for cancer.

If u dont like "Better" then id almost guess u are a "My Chemical Romance" or "Fallout Boy" fan.

Cause if u cant see the genius in "Better" I feel sorry for you honestly.

Problem is, cause music is so shitty these days, people have actually been dumbed down quite a bit and when complex, great, challenging music comes out, they are unable to appreciate it.

GNR isnt easy digestible SHIT music, it takes listens to appreciate everything goin on.

-------------------
No one ever told me when I was alone
They just thought I'd know better, better.

No one ever told me when I was alone
They just thought I'd know better, better.

The hardest part this troubled heart has never yet been through now
You've healed the scars that got their start inside someone like you now

Well had I known or I'd been shown back when how long it'd take me
To break the charge (it's not charge I don't think but I can't make it out) that brought me home and all that but won't erase me

I never would know but I could no matter what you'd pay me
Replay the part you stole my heart, I should have known you're crazy

If all I knew was that with you I'd want someone to save me
It'd be enough, but just my luck, I fell in love and baby

all that I wanted was

Now I know you better
You know I'd know better
Now I know you better

So bittersweet, this tragedy won't ask for absolution
This melody inside of me still searches for solution
A twist of fate, a change of heart, kills my infatuation
A broken heart provides the spark, for my determination

No one ever told me when I was alone
They just thought I'd know better, better
Ooh, no one ever told me when I was alone
They just thought I'd know better, better

All that I wanted was
I know you know you know better
You know I know you know better
Now you know me better

I never wanted you to be so full of anger
I never wanted you to be somebody else
I never wanted you to be someone afraid to know themselves
I only wanted you to see things for yourself

All that I wanted was
Now I know you better
Now we all know better

all that I wanted was

If I were you I'd manage to avoid the invitation
Of promised love that gave you up with your adoration
Just use your head and in the end you?ll find your inspiration
To choose your steps and won't regret this kind of aggravation

No one ever told me when I was alone
They just thought I'd know better, better
No one ever told me when I was alone
They just thought I'd know better, better

------------

You guys did a great job.

I appreciate the insight, but you're not the least bit on key regarding my personal tastes. ?All bs aside, perhaps you should try reading through the 59 pages of commentary to find what I have said about the song before further pursuing an argument. ?Ignorance kills credibility - ?Especially on these boards.

i was a huge fan of the 2 min clip.. but kinda disapointed in the rest of the song.. i didn't go through all 60 pages.. but does this sound unfinished to anyone else? infact were there even any versus after the 2 min mark?  i hate the bucket head solo in the middle..  and the axl kinda gives up on the vocals towards the end and goes into a rhiad like scream..  i don't dislike the song.. but after really digging the 2 min clip.. i'm a little disapointed..
