I think it's safe to assume that no matter what appears on CD, there will definately be people that won't like it, no matter what. "It's not really GnR" will be repeated ad nauseum, so get used to it. But you know what, who cares? If you like it, that's all that matters. I couldn't give one hot fuck if anyone else likes it, as long as I do. I've waited a long time, because I believe in Axl. You're right, GnR isn't the same as it used to be. Neither is Axl, neither am I. Things change. People move on.

After listening to this song 15 or so time snow, I just hope the final version of this song gets rid of that very very annoying guitar intro.? That sound actually hurts my ears.? Does anyone else think this song would be alot better with a different intro sound?? I mean as it stands it will annoy more people than it will impress IMO.

The melody of that guitar or what ever it is is really good. But its ear piercing.

I think any song referenced as "one of Axl's favorites" is no doubt a Big Gun and will prove to be most impressive once the final version is pressed and sealed

It's really hard to judge a 2 minute clip, but Axl's voice is something else in that clip..

The guitars sound very simplistic, but im sure there is no doubt a formidable solo in the track

The guitar intro is a little out of the ordinary but is probably exactly what is needed to catch peoples attention on the radio.

It could be. i honestly think that we haven't really heard any of the Big Guns yet, or perhaps just one..
in 02 he said they haven't even pulled out the big guns so i'm guessing that the blues, madagascar, etc aren't even the best songs on the album. Can't wait to see what happens......!!!!

I personally hope not.

I heard the minute snippet and im not real thrilled.

Hopefully the entire song will be great but I wasnt blown away by what I heard.  However I listened only once, so I give anything at least 10 listens before I judge too hard.

No, "The Blues" is not a Big Gun.
Axl said in 2002 they were saving their Big Guns, so they played 'The Blues' instead.

That's what he said, but Madagascar and The Blues HAVE to be big guns - they're too good not to be... Even after 15 years, I can't believe these aren't near the top of the list of good songs.

I think based on the 2 minute clip Better is a big gun too, extremely catchy and GREAT vocals.

eh, I'm already hitting skip on my Ipod when Better comes on....I still don't see what all the fuss is about.  Average song.  Not bad at all, but nothing to be going nuts over.  I hope the final version is a bit more kick ass.

I agree but this is the problem with leaks. U dont get the true feel of a song so it somewhat diminishes it which is why Axl doesnt want people hearing these leaks.

better has potential but I rank it down with Rhiad and all that. Its not on the level with Maddy,blues and IRS as of right now but it is pretty shitty quality and that has a lot to do with it.

the 2:06 better is really really good. I enjoy this song when I am in the mood for a different sounding guns. When I am in the mood for epic, NResque GnR, TWAT serves that purpose.
