Just listened to Better again. I cannot wait for this cd. No doubt Better is gonna be the first single. If there's a better single on this cd then DAMN!

The first single should ve Madagascar.. It will introduce people to the new sound, but won?t be a shocking transition

Do you guys remember that boston radio clip on the 2002 tour? There was a snippet of Madagascar Studio version, like 2 seconds, but it sounded AWESOME

BETTER is the hit

TWAT could be too, but way too long to first single material

we dont even know how long Better is, so you cant make that judgement. better sounds like it could be much longer than the 2 minute demo.

'Better' would make the perfect first single. It's hard enough for rock fans, poppy enough for pop-rock fans, huge cross-over song. I've played all of the new stuff to people, none of whom are really GNR fans, pretty much just casual rock and pop fans, and 'Better' has blown every single one of them away, and that's exactly what a first single needs to do. Who knows. Perhaps it'll be a song we've no clue of...

It's good to see your honesty.

I hate to go on a rant but I have noticed that there are two groups of people who just get on my nerves.

Group 1 (axl lovers)  Axl could fart on a snare drum and 1/2 of the posters would claim that it is sheer genious and will change the world of music as we know it.  If anyone ever posts (like Krispy) that they dont like a song, they will be told "fine dont look at this thread then"

Group 2 (axl haters) Unless CD comes with a complementary handjob, these people are going to hate the new music no matter what.  It could be a masterpeice and they will only look for flaws.

Where does that leave a realist like me that has an open mind?? hihi

Without a complementary handjob!

it's not going to be a double disc. merck said so.

I think he meant with all the material axl has..  Wich he said 3 albums!

but he/she was discussing the first single, which will be off the first album not the other two.

i think he/she meant in that context, if the first single was not a hard rocker, some where in the new material axl would have something that would satisfy him/her

thanks again...you and me are sharing a brain dude Smiley

and its a "he".  I'm all DUDE here Smiley

I think "the blues"  is still the best song by far.   Cant wait for the studio version of that.

Good point, but Axl did say his favorite songs are "Better", "TWAT", & "The Blues" so one would certainly suspect that those will be locks for the final cut.

I tried to post this earlier but was it was locked.  I just lost "Better" and I.R.S" from Itunes.  The files are gone now.  This sucks.  At least I got to hear them for a few days.  It was worth it.

I think it's safe to assume that no matter what appears on CD, there will definately be people that won't like it, no matter what. "It's not really GnR" will be repeated ad nauseum, so get used to it. But you know what, who cares? If you like it, that's all that matters. I couldn't give one hot fuck if anyone else likes it, as long as I do. I've waited a long time, because I believe in Axl. You're right, GnR isn't the same as it used to be. Neither is Axl, neither am I. Things change. People move on.

After listening to this song 15 or so time snow, I just hope the final version of this song gets rid of that very very annoying guitar intro.  That sound actually hurts my ears.  Does anyone else think this song would be alot better with a different intro sound?  I mean as it stands it will annoy more people than it will impress IMO.
