Not that it really matters, but he says quite clearly, "I wasn't invited" when joking around about the question.  So the interviewer shut Matt down after setting up a reaction like that by bringing up the new band?  I hardly see that as "Matt making fun of GN'R and getting told".  Matt's comments were just as harmless as Scott's and some of the reactions to it in this thread were so 'fanatical' that it reminds me why I can barely stand the GN'R section on the board.  It's not like these guys are going around on a "Fuck Axl" tour...  These guys are completely reactive when it comes to their opinion on GN'R.

There is far too much Scott hatred in this thread for my liking. What the hell have you really got against the guy? Or would you treat anyone who has the balls to front a band whose line-up includes 3 former members of your (presumably) favourite band like this?  I mean really!  A poor man's eddie vedder? Utter bullshit. Scott Weiland has a beautiful, incredible voice and fantastic stage presence. STP held their own regardless of the grunge storm. A fucking great band in my opinion and Core is still in my all time top ten albums.

Sure its just my opinion - but the vitriol against scott here really pisses me off.   They (VR) are all obviously gonna get asked about axl and CD and there's bound to be some baiting (esp after the words last year) - that must be fairly annoying for them - but it looks like it annoys you more! Thats hilarious!
