There is more to the Legend of Abbey Road. Paul was dead because, he was barefoot and was out of step with the rest of the group. The other things you mentioned are also correct.

George was the undertaker, he appeared in blue jeans and a blue workshirt top thing.

The legend of Paul dying is all over the Beatles music and album covers, if you believe the theories. I believe in Sgt. Pepper one of the clue's Paul was dead is because his back his turned to the camera. On Sgt. Pepper John sings, "Lemme introduce to you...The one and only Billy Shears!!" This is the real name of the man who replaced Paul, according to the legends......

You don't even have to necessarily like the band or the album, just the album cover. It's really just how striking the image is or how meaningful it is to you or what have you, from an artistic perspective. Let's face it, most album covers today are lazy pieces of shit. But every once in a while there'll be that diamond in the rough waiting to be found. Not to mention a bunch of classic album covers from before the CD (not Chinese Democracy) era that actually had some thought put into them. Post 'em up here, I think it'll be fun.

Well, the fact that it was terrible, just like CoF, is probably a reason as well. The obscenity was just a coincidence.

Really? Because I find the cover I posted for their album The Principle of Evil Made Flesh to be far more obscene, as well as other covers of theirs not posted here, but whatever. Images of vampiric nymphs half-nude and covered in fake blood doesn't really rank with me as all that obscene to begin with, and I can assure you my intention was to post what I appreciated as a well-done album cover, not to shock. So I guess it's less our opinions of best album covers as it is the standards and practices of the moderators of this board.
