I mean it's just doesn't fit VR to do VH IMO , I mean scott doing vocals is odd , and slash doing a EVH solo is like  Huh he himself said that he never uses tapping only when he move a lick up the fret board.

I agree, but at the same time, what other kinda high-profile rock bands are there out there these days that would be any better suited than VR? Axl's current GN'R perhaps?

they should get crashdiet to do it, im sure there new singer could pull off the vocals.

My picks for VR to play:

Ain't Talkin 'Bout Love or Mean Street- classics.

Finish What Ya Started- Well known Hagar era song that isn't too lame.

Ain't Talkin 'Bout Love

Matt mentioned that may be one of the tunes they'll play.

Falcon, this is killer news.  As I said on page one, I want to hear "Ain't Talkin Bout Love" as it fits Scott's range and Slash's skills.

Garry, I think he would play his Mockingbird because it has the Tremelo Bar and his Paul does not.

Im willing to bet his BC rich he uses on sucker train or the old red one he used on brownstone and other songs back in the GNR day.

Perhaps?

You know, as much as I like VR and think it's cool they will play a few VH songs, how lame is it that the VH brothers can't get it together for one night to play with MA, Sammy and Dave....

SAMMY HAGAR Hoping For Peaceful Night At ROCK HALL Induction - Mar. 5, 2007

Launch Radio Networks reports: VAN HALEN will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame one week from tonight (Monday, March 12), and there's still some question as to who's going to attend the ceremony. Singers David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar and former bassist Michael Anthony will all be there, and now Eddie and Alex Van Halen have reserved a table for themselves and their families, according to Premiere Radio Network. However, there is still some doubt that the Van Halen brothers will actually be at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

Either way, there are still no plans for the band to perform. VELVET REVOLVER will take the stage in their place, with frontman Scott Weiland and guitarist Slash doing the actual induction speech for VAN HALEN.

Hagar told Launch that he wants everything to go smoothly on the night, but he understands it might not. "I have my hopes and my fears, and my hopes are really that, you know, everyone's just respectful of each other, and happy for each other, and give credit where credit's due, that, you know, none of us would be there, probably, without each other," he said. "And hopefully, everybody's really happy and respectful, and (we) try to make a great thing out of it. And somebody trying to take the credit over someone else would be a bummer. That's my fear, is that, you know, it turns into an ugly thing, and there's an argument, and, you know, (we) start slinging hash at each other."

Slash better be on his A+++ game.  Everyone will be judging him in comparison to Eddie, which though not fair, will happen.

I am interested to see what Slash will do...

Yeah, Slash has always been a sloppy-dirty rock guitar player, not a note-for-note shredder, so I hope he plays well too.

His interpretation of the Eddie Van Halen solo in Beat It that he played with Michael Jackson live a few years ago, was um, interesting... Shocked hihi

I personally think they should play all DLR VH songs.. Here's why...  If Van Halen ended after Roth, they would still make the HOF.. If Van Halen started with Sammy they would not have ever even came close...

most likely

or his black one. ATBL was a good choice the solo is like something slash would or can play , and I'd love to hear his take on the main riff. ( reminds me of Aerosmith )
