I agree. ?Only the intro was messed up for Slash. ?Sorum and Duff were killer. ?With Roth on vocals, it would have been killer. ?the Band sound tight and ready to tour. ?Weiland sounded good at times during that song. ?The tried to sing a lil different, and it didn't work.

Well Velvet Revolver I am a bit dissapointed.  They got on stage and I heard the intro to Ain't Talkin' Bout Love, and I was like, "Alright a VH classic." Then I hear Slash mess up which I have NEVER seen in a video before.  And Scott Wheiland was running around stage like a drunk infant who had just learned to speak. So I sat there after ATBL and I was like, "well that was okay."  Then I hear the intro to Runaround and get a bit excited, then I hear Wheiland go "Run, Run, Around," and I thought to myself, "...............what the fuck happened to the first four verses before the chorus."  The song ended after about a minute and a half of Wheiland singing  "Run, Run, Around" and then VR got off the stage.  I was very surprised at this.  I thought VR for sure would have played Panama or Runnin' With The Devil, or Right Now.  But instead they only played 1 and a half songs.....  Anthony and Hagar's "Why Can't This Be Love" was pretty good.  But what a terrible to induct one of the greatest Rock & Roll bands of all time.

I agree that the performance was not very good by any means.  In their defense however, the whole Van Halen/Hall of Fame saga was a disaster from the start.  A month ago when a reunion seemed inevitable it looked as if the induction would've been a great thing.  Then things started to fall apart, and only Sammy and Michael Anthony showed up.  It was just a mess.  No one really wanted to see Velvet Revolver pay tribute to VH (hence the guy screaming, "that wasn't Van Halen" repeatedly after the lackluster performance).  I mean, let's face it, VR just isn't that well known and they were inducting one of the all time great bands, it just didn't make much sense.  They were really in a tough situation.  However, they chose to be a part of it and they really didn't shine too brightly.  I've heard local cover bands pay homage to Van Halen better than they did last night.

So I watched it again last night and still thought it was a good performance..  Slashed fucked up the intro but after that I thought the whole thing was tight as hell.

Runaround was a different story. I believe they played it like that for a reason obviously. My guess is so that Sam and MA could get out there and play with the house band.

Tomass, I agree.  I just watched it again.  I thought Slash did just fine after the intro and that band is so tight and ready to rock!  I cannot wait!!

I take the same position as tomass and Smoking Guns.  I watched it again, as well, and thought they did just fine.  Those who had high expectations of them sounding like VH (which no one is going to) were going to be disappointed.

Then I hear Slash mess up which I have NEVER seen in a video before.

Man, I'm a huge Slash fan, but the guy has ALWAYS been hit and miss when he plays live.

I thought for the most part Slash played well, but I wasn't expecting a note for note performance from the guy. Slash is a dirty blues styled player, not a spot-on-note-for-note Eddie Van Halen type.

I thought it was funny.

Watching Weiland contort himself around like McJagger on crack, combined with his incoherant bumbling and stumbling shot at Axl, reminds me how kick ass Axl is as a frontman.  If Axl had stayed in seclusion, I probably wouldn't have noticed the boobery as much.

Slash and Duff still kickass.
