Yeah that list fuckin sucks.

Kurt Cobain is so overrated, and its just cause he died. Fuck that guy.

P.S. Axl has had vocal coaches since the early 90s, maybe even before that.

No matter what Axl does, Kurt will always have his number.  hihi

I heard a Nirvana song yesterday, on a commercial for an EA Sports baseball video game. I am still amused by the very idea of it, even now.

Fucking Kurt Cobain? Why do so many people kiss his ass? I agree with most of that Top 10, though, and I'm glad Axl even made the list.

If COBAIN was still alive he wouldn't be on the list..maybe 99th or somethin but his voice sucked.  I can't stand Nirvana, I like the rest of the picks but of couse AXL should have been top 5.  I thought Axl, Mariah Carey, and a few others were the only ones that could reach certain octave ranges?!?!?

Kurt is the only one who doesnt belong on that list.

Steven Tyler, Micheal Jackson and Axl should've been in the top 10.

I don't believe there's a reason...

I thought Axl, Mariah Carey, and a few others were the only ones that could reach certain octave ranges?!?!?
I don't know about it, but I like his screams and singing voices a lot. I don't know other rock start that could scream like he does in his shows. Welcome to the jungle, knocking on heavens door, live and let die, IRS, Paradise City. By scream I do mean really loud screams. He even could keep drive in the whole 12.20 show, like he did in the past. Oh, yea, and I think that using drive makes harder to reach certain notes.

I don't know any other rock singer in the history of time who was invited to sing with more musical legends on stage then Axl Rose. The guy has about 5 or 6 voices and he can truely sing just about anything.
oh, true, he has about 5 or 6 voices, lol. Most of singers just have 1 (right?). This is a point that makes me consider Axl being in the top 10, 5 or even 3. And he can even reach high notes on all those voices, right? I don't know much about voice though. Is there anyone to confirm me that?  Roll Eyes
He uses one voice to madagascar, one to welcome to the jungle, one to sweet child o' mine, one to nightrain, one to november rain, one to Mr. Brownstone... that's what I THINK, at least  Roll Eyes

Missing from the top 10:

Freddy Mercury, Axl, Maynard James Keenan, David Lee Roth (don't misjudge his talents as a frontman as overshadowing his vocal range, which is truely impressive and unique)

Axl should be higher than 87, no doubt.

I'd make a case for Glenn Frey of The Eagles to be in the top ten. His voice is incredibly smooth.

any poll that has Kurt Cobain higher than say someone like Christina Aguilerra, who has a 4 1/2 octave range, you can't take seriously. Axl has a wide variety of voices and can get up there but, I don't think he's deserving of top 10

Axl and about 75 of the singers on this list dont even belong in a list title "Greatest Singers."  You kidding me?  Just in rock alone do you really think you could put Axl or Kurt above Mike Patton, Geoff Tate or Tim Christensen when it comes to singing. Like just singing.  Im not talking about frontmen or stage presnce, lyrics or anythign else, but pure singing.  Fact is almost all Opera singers are going to be better than anyone on this list.  Listen to Natalie Dessay and tell me that she couldnt hit any note that these people sing, with ease.  Then even lesser known singers like Beth Hart, who play kinda bluesy rock could blow away any of these people.  This list should obviously be called the most popular singers of the last 50 years, not greatest.
