My girlfriend just broke up with me...

I wish people were just assigned a mate.

Love sucks...

That's such a tired, worn out cliche and I don't even know if it's true.

Mate, that's the worse excuse ever.

I never bought it for a second, the way I see it some people are just too self-centered. "I love you, but I can't handle a bf right now in my life." That's all about her.
Did she even try to talk to you?

Now if I'd be in a relationship and I'd dump the girl just telling her "sorry I can't handle a gf in my life right now" I'd be branned an asshole for sure.
"He just used me all along!"
But when it's women, it's just what they do, some women atleast.

Sure, sweetcakes you said you love me, I bet you ran right off to give head to someone else.

But it don't matter, sugar, he can have my left-overs. I know how to order.

Why should I, sweetie, care about the things you do? Fuck both of you.

My condolences, brother.  As much as it sucks, it will pass and you will end up with someone better for you.  Until then, drink as much and as often as possible.    beer

I agree, its a total cop out.  There is more to the story than that for sure.  but like sin cut says, who cares.  Fuck her for not being 100% honest with you.

Not to be an asshole, but...

In "chick speak" that typically means "I've found another guy I wanna date but don't want to tell you about it because a) it will make me look like an asshole and b) it will cause a huge argument/confrontation that I don't want to face.".  Maybe, in this case, I'm wrong...but that's usually what it means.

It's like when guys say "I think we should see other people".  Girls sometimes take that to mean "I don't want to commit to you, but we can still date, just not exclusively."  All guys know what it really means: "I've got someone I wanna fuck/date/get jiggy wit, I don't wanna see you ever again...unless I'm drunk and horny one night".

She's just, ooh, "emotionally unstable"

Again, allow me to translate from the typical chick speak dictionary (assuming those were her words).

"emotionally unstable" = in love/lust with someone else.

Girls love to turn the breakup reasoning, especially when it involves wanting to hook up with a new guy, back on themselves.  It's a time honored, classic "breakup" tactic....because it avoids a huge blowup, since they're beating you to the punch (FIGURATIVELY!!) and bagging on themselves before you get the chance to.

Let me reiterate...maybe the above is NOT true in your case.  There's always exceptions.  In any event, best to move on.  Really...just ignore her for the duration.  Clean breaks heal the easiest and will get you back in the saddle that much quicker.

Note:  I know this post is  full of bad breakup cliches.  It's intentional...not because I mean to make light of Gerald pain, but because behind every cliche is a grain of truth.
