KORN, VELVET REVOLVER, LAMB OF GOD, DIMMU BORGIR, DRAGONFORCE and DEVILDRIVER have been confirmed for the Download festival, set to take place June 8-10 at Donington Park, Leicestershire, England. The festival billing is shaping up as follows:

BRING ME THE HORIZION
DEVILDRIVER
DIMMU BORGIR
DRAGONFORCE
IRON MAIDEN (June 10 headliner)
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE
KORN
LAMB OF GOD
LINKIN PARK (June 9 headliner)
MARILYN MANSON
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE (June 8 headliner)
SLAYER
VELVET REVOLVER
WOLFMOTHER

The Download festival is a three-day rock/metal/punk festival held annually at the spiritual home of rock music in England ? Donington Park, which hosted the Monsters of Rock festivals between 1980 and 1996, and 2002's Ozzfest. It takes place in early summer, and is owned and managed by Live Nation, a company owned by Clear Channel Communications.

Download festival 2006 ? which featured headliners TOOL, METALLICA and GUNS N' ROSES ? was said to be a huge success, with 75,000 visitors each day.

how the hell did my chemical romance get to have a headlining spot? shoulda gone to velvet revolver or at the very least wolfmother (which i just saw live and i can say they put on an AWESOME show!!!!)

MCR are rubbish and should no way be headlining.  They got a royal bottling at Reading the other year - and deserved too.  I know everyone has a right to like the music they like, and I can appreciate MCR have fans - but giving them a headline slot just smacks of the organisers missing out on the some of the many and better bands that will be playing the Euro festival circuit this year (aerosmith for example.)

VR though - YEAH!  I will be there for that! ok

i'm gonna be there? beer Was very happy when i saw the Download Ad in college and VR were on it ^.^ since i'd already bought my ticket and was hopeing that some good bands would be playing.

Can't wait.

MCR headling is ridiculas, and linkin park shouldnt be either.

My ideal headliners:
Metallica, Megadeth and Iron Maiden.
Would of been amazing....or aerosmith.
ahh well, should be a great weekend.


I just can't wait to see SLASSHHHHh =D i love him <3 ahaha and i'll of seen all of the appetite 5 then!

never really got into them myself but do like some songs.. Anyway, I saw them at Ozzfest a couple years ago and thought it would still be cool.. They were horrific.. It was one of the cheesiest shows I have ever seen lol...
