'I was looking for a job and then I found a job and heaven knows i'm miserable now'

I have that line playing through my head so often these days!

Morrissey manages to write lyrics that seem to describe exactly where you are - amazing band, amazing guitar work

Ipods should come with 'How soon is now?' as standard

Not a die-hard fan, but I do love many of their songs.  My favorite is "Bigmouth Strikes Again".  Johnny Marr and Morrissey were quite a team.

Panic is my favorite Smith's tune by far.? The lyrics are about when DJ Steve Wright gave a serious news report about the Chernobyl disaster and then played Wham's "I'm Your Man"

The lyric, "Because the music that they constantly play, it says nothing to me about my life" is one of my favs.?

Hang the DJ!

Wish Morrissey would consider a reunion. His "lounge act" he does now sucks. What is missing is Johnny Marr.

Oh I fucking love them! One of the greatest bands I reckon! It would be awesome to see them reform, but Johnny Marr is playing for Modest Mouse now and Morrissey doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon!

The Smiths are the worst fuckin' band.? Argh!? I don't get it - I really don't.? Morrissey has the most bland, unemotive voice and his songs are self pitying drivvel.? Everyone rants on about his shitty ass lyrics like he's Axl Rose or some shit but he's just a stuck up arsehole with a silly quiff.? If someone could point me to a single Smiths song that isn't utter wank I will give them a positive karma on the spot - i'm not convinced there is one.? Check out Muse's version of 'Please, please, please...' it puts the original to shame!

EDIT: Okay, so 'How Soon is Now?' is a good track.  That one doesn't count. peace

Panic in itself is a fucking great song....unemotive lyrics?  I think the words to that tune sum of the shitty ass radio industry in a nutshell and still hold true to these days.

The Smiths aren't metal or even hard rock and most of their songs are done with acoustic guitars - the beginning of emo? confused

You'll have to do better than that i'm afraid - even Morrissey sounds bored.

Them damn Smiths...

Just "Panic"....sans the in itself.  Download it...it was a B-side later to be released on their compilation and greatest hits album.

I would also add "Bigmouth Strikes Again" to the "not utter wank" list.?

Sweetness, I was only joking when I said by rights you should be bludgeoned in your bed.
