I think they can get away with this, I mean, I dont think that Sanctuary would fine radio stations in the country for playing the bands new material....u have to look at it in perspective. Sanctuary are a buisness, concerts are going to be announced in Mexico in the near future, so it would make sense to promote ticket sales by playing the new material...the band also have a new album coming out apparently...so it would make sense for the songs to get some kind of airplay.

and besides, we dont know what kind of station this broadcast was taken from, it could have been just a small college radio station

Does a single really mean anything.  Im not trying to be a dick, but Oh My God was technically a single and it was actually released and over half a decade later we still have no album, so even if Better was officially released, if there is no official release date I dont think we can ink in the album anytime soon, maybe pencil it in, but Axl has defied all logic in the delays of this album, so I wouldnt be surprised if he did it again.

Yeah well the biggest difference is "Oh My God" ain't that good.  I hate to say it cuz it has some potential.  I'm hoping it got re-written a la "Silkworms".

I just mean couldnt Axl do that again, like release Better as a single for some soundtrack or for an advertisement and then still not release the entire album.  Im curious what people think, if OMG would have taken off if the album would be released by now?

I really liked OMG, i might be the only one, but I still listen to it all of the time.  I thought the lyrics were some of the best and while it probably could have been mixed better I thought it was pretty strong.

OMG wasn't a real single and wasn't intended to be released as a single in the traditional sense.
Axl said it was more like a demo too.

Nope, you're not. I love both the soundtrack version and the live one.

Ok. So, it sounds like GNR is coming to Mexico City in April? It's hard to decipher from all the different messages. No date yet? At the Palace of Sports? Does any one know any way to confirm? If this is true, I'm on a plane baby and I want to get a ticket! I need a kickass way to ring in me 40th and join the ranks of Mr. Rose.

This date hasn't been confirmed by anybody.

Seems like it's just somebody's wishful thinking.

That would explain why there's no date announced.

We don't know what the intentions were. All that is known is that Axl gave an interview by the end of 99 declaring his intentions to release a new album as soon as possible.

And the demo comments were made after OMG bombed commerically. I recall a lengthy and informative statement coupling with the initial release. He seemed proud, then.

Doesn't make sense to be in Mexico, then go to Asia and then Africa, all in less than a month. I believe Mexico would be the last step before USA and after South American dates.
