I always assumed I had started this thread, then it popped up again today and apparently I didn't. Go figure. Still, Halloween is my favorite horror movie, which is saying a lot (that's kinda my thing). I have a lot of respect for Zombie, especially after getting to talk to him about his filmmaking process and movies in general, apart from music. I'm looking forward to this like you wouldn't believe.

I know the difference between re-shooting a movie and doing pick-ups and additional shooting during editing. It's kind of what I do. Refer to Zombie's Halloween blog for his word on it.

oh and heres part of an interview where rob zombie says he wont be involved in any sequels and that he simply went out to make a good movie and not a series:

Shock: Has producer Malek Akkad been pressing you about a sequel?

Zombie: Malek says it, but I'm like there's no f**kin' way. [laughs] I don't know, I know Scout [Taylor-Compton, aka Laurie Strode] hasn't signed on for a sequel. There's no way I would do it because I approached this movie singular film unto itself. I don't give a shit about reinvigorating a franchise, that's all well and good because you have to make money but I just wanted to make a great film and that's all Carpenter wanted to do. Not make a series. If they make "Halloween" 2, 3, 4, 9000, I'm not gonna be involved. Because this film has such a great start and a great ending, to go, "Let's start it up again!" Would be, to me, "Oh, Jesus Christ."

lol good point but it sounds like Zombie's film is gonna be more than a by the numbers remake since it focuses more on Micheal Myers and his background/motivations and has been described more as a "re-imagining" than a remake.....

i must say i respect him for what he said about a sequel.

so..... this comes out TOMMOROW!!

too bad i'm at college in the middle of nowhere so probably won't be seeing it anytime soon... although i might be coming home in the next few weekends so i'll try to check it out.

based on the trailers, zombie's definitely got the feeling right for a halloween movie, i think this movie "looks" much scarier than halloween resseruction or H20.

i think rob zombie is a good horror director and is much better than hacks like Eli Roth...

I downloaded this off of torrent. (May 15th version) and i have to say the beginning sucks ass. The young Micheal Myers is a hyper ADD kid who talks way too much. Im about a half hour in.

I dont know but Zombie didnt do a decent job on Myer's childhood.
