Yup. Not only will the air be filled with poison here, and every other message board, there's going to be a lot of fans staying home when tour shows up in their town.
?
Agree on the first one.
The second one? I'd like to see all the people who'd willingly miss possibly the last time to see the band live when the push comes to shove. There will be some, but mark my words, they'll be in the minority.
Just how it goes.
No way I'll see the band again unless there's a full CD to promote. It's not worth sitting in an arena until 2AM for the band to play four new songs, and never mention the words "chinese democracy" during the entire show,
as was the case in Worcester, MA on 11/8/06
.
I think that was the case for the majority of the 2006 shows.

GNR has plenty of casual fans, who do not read the message boards and keep track of the website. Those people only remember the current situation whenever the band comes to town. The conversation basically goes like, "Don't they have a record out since they're touring?" "Beats me, it was all over the news last year."
They go, find out.

Personally, I have to agree also. Going and seeing the band "live" is a really good way to pass the time while waiting.
Should they do another end of year North America tour, I'll be in attendance for at least a couple of the shows.

That makes no sense. I'm waiting for CD too. We're all waiting. We are all forced to wait. We may wait in different ways, but we're waiting nonetheless. If you are not waiting for CD, then you don't plan to get it.

One thing is for sure, another tour without an album or official release date could end really bad and might end gn'r as we know it.
I for one will not support this anymore if that happens. You can only string along so much.
I agree. No more GN'R for me without a cd release.
I can't fully understand that - we have nearly ten new songs available now even without official release, so what's the point in howling about the absence of cd? btw I doubt that live setlist will change significantly after CD, maybe two or? three new tracks, the rest will be the same.
We have I.R.S, TWAT, Better and to some degree CITR. Unfortunately Axl is nowhere near good enough live for me to be able to put on any live tracks on the stereo for anything other than curiosity.
I need crisp studioversions.
You have not been out too much then?
Lame, but predictable response
I've noticed some people in this thread who like to tell others to go do something else with their time instead of waiting for the album.... Why is it so offensive for people to be anxious? That's a huge compliment to the band, without licking ass. That's true devotion. And if people don't want to go to a show because the album isn't released, then in the words of Bobby Brown, its their PEROGATIVE. You don't have to throw snide remarks at them.

Oh I've been out, and it was great. Playing the same show on the stereo though, not the same.

How does it not make sense. No one is holding a gun to his head, if he doesnt want to wait anymore then he doesnt have to. He can go and find another band to like or something. Me, I can wait and not get pissed off because its just an album. I'm anxious to hear it, but I'm not ridiculous about it. I'm not just gonna stop going to concerts, listen to my favorite band, or stop supporting them all together because of it. You gotta realize that its his album, not ours, and when he's ready for it to be released then it will. Just cause we think its ready, or we want it so much, doesnt mean we are gonna get it any sooner. The faster you realize that, the easier the wait will become. In the meantime, if they decide to go out and tour, then enjoy it because its better than them not doing anything at all, like 2003-2005.

I wonder..... does bitching at people to stop bitching about waiting for the album and do something else, actually equal bitching about waiting for the album?

I never said I wasnt waiting. But I dont complain about the wait. What I complain about is people who complain about the wait.
Seriously though, I dont see why people need to bitch about it. Do they think they are gonna get the album any faster if they do. If people just shut up about it, I bet it would make the wait a lot easier.

THAT'S STILL BITCHING
But then there would be nothing to talk about if people just shut up about waiting. That's the current state of GNR, waiting. People need to vent. Just remember, because people don't have the same outlook you do doesn't mean they're any less of a fan, or don't have the right to blow off some steam. We all wait in different ways, dude

Then so be it. What makes everyone so hostile around here is the bitching. If people really feel the need to bitch, then we have a thread called "The Frustration Thread" over in Dead Horse. They can go vent there. No one's bitching is more special than anyone else's.
I'm just here to enjoy my favorite band in whatever state they are in. I'd rather do it peacefully than to bicker with people all the time. I could understand the bitching in the beginning, but c'mon, by now we know the deal. No matter how much people bitch it wont change the situation. It will only change when Axl is ready for it to change. And it seems as though he is almost ready, this is a time where we shouldnt be bitching. We've had the most communication from the band between last year and now over the last 10 years. I'm sure there are other things we can talk about if we just used our imagination.

You're not forced to "wait".
I'm planning on getting the album as soon as it's out, but that still doesn't mean I'm waiting for it.
I don't wait for things that don't have some sort of schedule attached to it.
I'm waiting for spring because it means more daylight, better weather and the start of the Formula 1 season. I know spring comes in March..
Some of you are probably waiting for the day you get out of school or your birthday.
I'm content with knowing that the album will be out as soon as possible. I don't feel better by pointing fingers about it not being out and getting annoyed/angry/frustrated about it.

Nobody's forced, but it's not a conscious choice either. People come here and 'wait' because they experience a connection with the artist. Like everybody else on the planet that waits for something that their genes and enviroment has shaped them into craving.
I'll wait till I wait no more. No argument will change that.

I guess the right word for GNR fans is not wait, but "expect".
we expect much from the band, but they often dont stand up to our expectations, which may cause some frustration in the GNR fans ranks.
not living up to the expectations when it comes to certain details, makes people concerned that the album might not live up to the expectations as well.
and no schumacher this year
That's like Velvet Revolver... of racing!
