Great news, hope this new album would be better than Out Of Exile.

Launch Radio Networks reports: AUDIOSLAVE is well into the recording process on its third album, which the band tentatively plans to release in June. Lead singer Chris Cornell told Launch how the process has changed for the group this time around. "It's just really gotten a little bit faster, I believe, and more efficient," he said. "We started out with the attitude that we wanted to just go into a room, the four of us, and write songs on the spot with everyone always there, and then also make our records that way. We started out doing that very well, and really what's happening is that the music stylistically is growing and changing, which it naturally will, but the process is really still the same."

The yet-to-be-titled new disc will follow up 2005's "Out of Exile".

AUDIOSLAVE guitarist Tom Morello recently spoke to RollingStone.com about the progress of the recording sessions for the group's third album. "We're about halfway done," he said of the forthcoming follow-up to last year's chart-topping "Out of Exile", which is being produced by Brendan O'Brien, who worked with both AUDIOSLAVE forebears RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and SOUNDGARDEN. According to Morello, the band is in such a groove that "if we're not done in three weeks, there's a problem."

Does that mean fans will hear the record in June, as has been reported? "It's hard to tell," he said. "It's still rock & roll."

According to RollingStone.com, AUDIOSLAVE have set "Revelations" as the title of their third album, due in June. For the follow-up to last year's "Out of Exile", singer Chris Cornell wanted to explore a vocal style he feels closest to but has never touched on before: R&B. "I love rock music, but my favorite singers are not in rock bands," Cornell confessed. "They're Stevie Wonder, Mavis Staples, the CHAMBER BROTHERS."

AUDIOSLAVE frontman Tom Morello told RollingStone.com that the band's new track "Wide Awake", off their forthcoming third album, "Revelations", is "probably AUDIOSLAVE's most political song to date. The song deals with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the horrible way the administration has let down the people here," Morello explained.

While frontman Chris Cornell previously told Rolling Stone that "Revelations" is going "into more of a soul/R&B direction," Morello wanted to clarify. "First of all, it's a big, hard rock record," he told RollingStone.com. "While it's kicking your ass, you can shake your ass to it at the same time. It's a rock record with a funky bottom."

Working with producer Brendan O'Brien (BOB DYLAN, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS), Morello says he went beyond his usual electric guitar setup, picking up vintage axes and amplifiers to meld the band's rock with what Cornell called his new "Seventies funk and R&B-flavor vocals." "Chris has never sung better then on this record," Morello assured. "It's got a bit of the blue-eyed soul singer going on. It's basically like LED ZEPPELIN meets EARTH, WIND AND FIRE."

the last album got alot of flak for no reason. It was different and i liked it. Tom Morello is trying to distance himself from the monster funky riffs of RATM and the self titled. it was a little more experimental and i thought it was great. they are an awesome live act too see them if they come around where u live.

Yeah, Out f Exile was a solid effort, just a bit more laidback than the debut, but it was still a good album.

AUDIOSLAVE have cancelled their entire European tour scheduled for the summer, according to NME.com.

The U.S. rockers ? who consists of former members of RAGE AGANST THE MACHNE and SOUNDGARDEN ? were due to play the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds festivals in England in late August.

AUDIOSLAVE recently completed work on their third album, "Revelations", with producer Brendan O'Brien (BOB DYLAN, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS). The CD, which is expected to surface later in the year, contains what is "probably AUDIOSLAVE's most political song to date," according to guitarist Tom Morello. "The song deals with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the horrible way the administration has let down the people here," Morello explained to RollingStone.com.

While frontman Chris Cornell previously told RollingStone.com that "Revelations" is going "into more of a soul/R&B direction," Morello wanted to clarify. Sources at AUDIOSLAVE's record label have told Launch Radio Networks that the band made the decision to cancel their previously announced European tour after being advised that it would be better to hit the road with a new album to support.

The group's third effort, titled "Revelations", is not due out until September at the earliest, although a final release date has yet to be officially announced.

Yeah, the second album is pretty good. More laidback than the debut, but still a great listen.

It reminds me a bit of Temple Of The Dog and early Pearl Jam/Soundgarden. There's some very soulful vocals from Chris Cornell on there.

Epic Records has announced a September 5 release date for "Revelations", the highly anticipated new album from multi-platinum rock band AUDIOSLAVE.

In a recent interview with RollingStone.com, guitarist Tom Morello described the record as "LED ZEPPELIN meets EARTH, WIND AND FIRE," adding that it's a big hard rock record with a funky bottom." Among the album's many highlights is the groove-driven lead single "Original Fire", and "Wide Awake", about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. "It's probably AUDIOSLAVE's most political song to date," says Morello.

The Grammy-nominated quartet (vocalist Chris Cornell, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk) recorded "Revelations" at Henson Studios in Los Angeles with acclaimed producer Brendan O'Brien. O'Brien, whose myriad credits include PEARL JAM and BRUCE SPINGSTEEN, mixed AUDIOSLAVE's "Out of Exile" record and the "Live in Cuba" CD and DVD. His history with the band goes back even farther, as he produced RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE albums "Evil Empire" (1996), "The Battle of Los Angeles" (1999) and "Renegades" (2000) and mixed SOUNDGARDEN's "Superunknown" (1994).

"Revelations" follows 2005's "Out of Exile", which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top 200 and featured the Grammy-nominated single "Doesn't Remind Me".

"Revelations" track listing:

01. Revelations
02. One And The Same
03. Sound of a Gun
04. Until We Fall
05. Original Fire
06. Broken City
07. Somedays
08. Shape of Things To Come
09. Jewel of the Summertime
10. Wide Awake
11. Nothing Left To Say But Goodbye
12. Moth
