Hmmm - the first album was fine n'all, but lacked anything that makes a 'good' album, it was very listenable but utterly unremarkable, never been a massive fan of Cornell or Soundgarden for that matter, but i was hopefull Morello might find some inspiration, after all he was fantastic for RATM.

Perhaps if Chris Cornell tries to vary his vocal style - every song he does has the exact same feel, kinda a one trick pony.

I am so excited for this, Morello commented that some songs sound like they are from AC/DC's "Back In Black" and some sound like they are from U2's "The Joshua Tree"...NOW IF THAT DOESN'T GET YOU EXCITED I DONT KNOW WHAT WILL!!! ROCK ON AUDIOSLAVE!!!!

 the stars are all aligned. this is the perfect momment fo Audioslave. it would really be a shame if the missed this. I think the thing to keep them from great release is if they decide on making a predictable rock record. it is important they take chances. this could be the one ... the one to blow everything up into the sky

HELLS YEA!!!! You're right, you're getting me even more excited!!! by the way in Entertainment Weekly they say the album will be out in May, hope they're right!!

Their first album is so underrated, it's such a great album. It takes a little time to fully appreciate it, but then....whoa! The second half (from "Shadow On The Sun" on) is just unbelievable.

I wish I could be half as excited about other "current" bands and albums, you know, like saying I like an entire album or at least half an album.? Most bands I don't even get to the second half of their albums because I've had enough after three songs already.

Except for the solo in LIKE A STONE, I could live without the first half, but when SHADOW ON THE SUN kicks in, man something's happening there. This song is magic its like goodbye to the first half and hello to the second, I mean the mood and all, hard to explain. The second half is a bit darker I think.

First half, second half...fuck, I miss the days of back when it was called "side A" and "side B" - lol...?

Just goes to show you that different people see different things that they like in the same music.
To me the later half of the album tends to get a bit dull, and I only mean in comparison to the first lot of songs, not that they are bad songs.
I guess I like the more rockin' stuff, cause thats the stuff I liked Cornell singing with Soundgarden too.

Nevertheless, I think Audioslaves 2nd album will be great and even better than their debut!

Not sure if you've seen them live either, but if you haven't then you're in for a treat.
I saw them on their last tour to Australia and they were amazing.

I happen to like both Axl and Slash, rocking stuff and ballad stuff, so I guess I'm in the minority...

Sounds a bit like a watered down version of Like A Stone.
I was hoping for something a little more rocking, but it's not too bad.
