I was extremely disappointed in Chris, he has a spectacular vocal range. and still he goes on and sing practically the whole album in the exact same monotonous voice, disappointing. his solo album is kinda the same deal.

I thought the vocals on his solo album were brilliant, especially in songs like 'When I'm Down' & 'Follow My Way'.

Just an update on the new album from knac.com:

Audioslave are currently in the studio with mega-producer Rick Rubin, and are about half-way finished recording the 22 songs they have written for their sophomore album. No word yet on the scheduled release date of that, so stay tuned for more details.

Chris Cornell has the best voice in rock right now, period. That fuckin scream in Cochise is unbelievable y'know where he goes "and put the blame on me so you don't feel a thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggg...." u get the picture lol.
I simply love them, Cornell is the whole package, fantastic vocalist and songwriter, and Tom Morello is the man, he has a very unique and original sound, and is the riff master lol, his solos are very good too. My favorite songs are "Cochise", "Show Me How to Live", "What You Are", "Like A Stone" and "I am The Highway", and of course the rest of them? are great too.

I always thought Zach was the worst part of rage, and anyone with ears knows Chris Cornell has one of the best voices on the planet but I was disappointed by the album. Cochise kicks ass and like a stone is good in that haunting sort of way but alot fo the other tracks blend in alot to me and I couldn't get into it. Not as good as anything soundgarden ever released. Their best song is "we got the whip" which is on the radio alot now and thats not on the album. Hopefully will be on the next one.

I was never a big RATM fan because I couldn't get into Zach's vocal style. However, earlier this year I bought RATM's debut and was really blown away by it. Awesome awesome album. And now I think Zach is an amazing frontman. All of RATMs albums are good, but the debut is still the best.

I think he means it's cool to do your own thing and experiment but sometimes u just want someone to fucking wail on out on a lead and tom morello doesn't do that.

You know, the classic Rock N' Roll bluesy/metal guitar sound. They have an original guitar sound, but it kinda gets boring after a few listens.

I hope not. I think that song sounds a lot like many recorded for the 1st album. In fact it was part of the whole bunch of songs composed in the beginning, however it was included in the Civilian Project Demos leaked through the internet.

I want to hear a whole new record, with an improved sound.

BTW i always thought of Morello as someone who couldn't shred, but i was wrong, the guy in the 80s was playing the Eddie stuff just like everyone else. Listen to some Audioslave bootlegs and hear "Super Stupid". He plays fast and "clean" arpeggios there.

Audioslave to Return in 2005

Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello has revealed to Kerrang! that the band have nearly completed their "awesome" second album. The band's as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2002's self titled debut, which is due for release this year, is being produced by Rick Rubin.

Audioslave are currently scheduled to perform at these festivals in Europe:
June 10 - Hurricane Festival, Germany
June 11 - Southside Festival, Germany

--------

Here's hoping for a double album and lots of concerts, because THIS BAND ROCKS! Cool
