Here Today...

I think March 6th right now would be a longshot, unless promotion starts within the next week.  Also, no offense to our South African friends, but I would think a mjor US tour would likely coincide with or right after the release date.

RS is most likely right about 06/03 not happening, but that doesn't mean the album can't get released in the 6 weeks between then and the SA gigs.

Seems like RS is back with a vengeance after their 06 prediction went down the drain.

Rolling Stones stating the album was coming in 2006 WAS NOT a prediction, that came from Axl's mouth at least twice last year :
1) He said on Eddie Trunk that it was coming "Fall..late fall."
2) He even reiterated the whole "it is this year" at the VMA's.

I was gonna say he told RS in January of 2006, but actually, I think his exact words were "people will hear music this year." So, I'll be real fair and not count that one. I'm sure if I do, someone will jump in saying I don't know what I'm talkin about.

I agree that there is absolutley no way this album is coming on March 6th. How do I know that for sure?? Well, again, cos Axl said the album would be promoted properly. I think most people figured that whole "tentative date" didn't mean shit. It's not the fact that the album is not coming on March 6th that bothers me. It's the fact that the album was SUPPOSED to drop last year and it didn't cos his manager couldn't deliver the album that Axl is still working on?? Does anyone else here find this odd?? Now, we're here months later wondering if/when we'll ever get the release date. I think Guns first single should be a cover of Tom Petty's "The Waiting". I mean, it seems fitting... no?? ?Shocked

RS did pull that date out of their ass though. Granted Axl said it would be out in '06, but he never gave out a specific date.

Even though I seriouslydoubt it, March 6 is still possible. For all we know the album has been turned in and no one wants to say anything until every little thing is set in place.

Since the dates have been arranged since the tentitive release statement was made, would it be unreasonable to think that the gigs are no longer going to interfere with the release of CD.  The last tour in the US was blamed (or in part anyway) for the CD non-show.

Reading between the lines, if Axl has given the OKAY to South Africa, then in his mind he must be confident that "his work"* is done...

*(his work= that the bits that need his input either creatively or contractually.) I am not say that the album will be out, mearly that upto manufacturing and releasing it, that it is/will be complete.

I tend to agree with this assessment.  After all, these shows are nearly three months away.  So, given an eight week turnaround, the album could be submitted at the end of February and still be on shelves around the time of the S.A. dates.

I know that this has been said plenty of times here before but I can't recall the answer.

How much notice was there before the release of the Illusions ?

Just something that I was thinking about last night.

So Jarmo, you are basically saying you no longer believe in March 6th as the release date?

I take the tentative release date for what it is.

I don't expect to have the album in the stores on that exact date. I don't count down the days and hours to March 6th like some do and I won't get pissed off at the band if the album isn't out by then.

A lot of things need to fall into place to get the album out and I suspect it's being worked on.

I believe they're trying hard to get it out ASAP and that's enough for me.

Hey Jarmo, can't you ever just sympathise with the fans for once and say 'yeah fuck it I wish they'd get along with it and release it asafp'

I will repeat one sentence I have written in a similar threat.

The album will hit stores when it is done. And it will be done when it is done.
You have to realize that the band will finish the album when everything is ready for that.

axl should just keep his mouth shut, if he isn`t able to deliver and keep his promises anyways....

i highly doubt anyone here thinks, that what`s going on with this fuckin CD is normal in any way. even axl had to admit that in his last letter. of course he found someone to blame for that... it wasn`t him by the way ok

The reason Axl has to make excuses is because of posts like this. He actually wrote in the letter that March 6 wasn't a promise and here you are saying that Axl can't keep his promises.

Yeah, us lot who have been waiting the best part of 8-10 yrs for an album

IMO its justified for people to be pissed off with the band for keeping us waiting. And its not so easy just to simply stop following the band

I think you are even smarter. hihi

As long as we don't know why things were going that way we should not start making speculations. I doubt that it is only Axl's thing. Feel free to think whatever you like, but I prefer to think that there are more issues that should be looked at.

Just something that I was thinking about last night.

About 6 weeks from the time Axl said (on stage, in LA) that he and Slash had put the finishing touches on the album the day prior til the actual release.

However, you have to consider, too, that there was a single already out...

i see your point and i agree to a certain extent, but i don't see the point of comming here, bitching about it you know. One should have gotten used to delays by now and after all, this is gn'r. You know axl is going to do this his way anyway...

And where did i state anything about it affecting peoples lives?

I don't know, i just don't think theres much of a point complaining about how Axl handles his shit. It's not going to do any good anyway.. Plus lately there's been plenty of other interesting things going on the gn'r world. No need to stress...
