The official website still has Axl's open letter as the top news story, which states 3/6.

While I'd love to take this as official good news, the official site also had the "X Tuesdays left in 2006" comment up, until a few days before we got the letter with March 6th as tentative.

Sorry if this has been answered.
Has there been any word that the album has been turned over to the record company?

It's not the knowledge of the record company having the CD that will cause leaks, it is people inside the record company or whereever the CD is produced that will cause the leaks.

Oh trust me, alot of us feel the same way. Anytime I've had a discussion with someone in the music industry about downloads they try to convince me that downloaders are just evil.

When I ask them about their thoughts on the people within the industry who actually CAUSE the downloads through leaking they usually have no response whatsoever.

Strange.

But to get back to topic, the contacts I have say the album still hadn't been turned in as of Friday 02/02.

For some reason February 6th could be a good day for an annoucement (one month before the tentative release and Axl's birthday, it was also listed by Merck as a tentative release in the email to Axl and co. in December).

it was the tentative release date axl was shooting for at first.....  merck told him not to use it, as it was unrealistic even at that point already. it turned out, that axl wasn`t even able to deliver on march 6th....
