Considering the Super Bowl is Sunday, I doubt that's happening. All the ads have been spoken for.

How do you know that for a fact? Just curious.

All the ads are already made, some are already on YouTube, and the schedule of ads has appeared in newspapers already, right down to which ads are airing during which quarter. For example, in the third quarter, you'll see ads for Careerbuilder.com, Diamond Emerald Nuts and Nationwide Insurance (the ad with Kevin Federline), among others.

I can't see how there are people still talkin like March 6 is possible!? Anytime during the month of March is highly unlikely at this point. Not only do we have no promo for the album, we have absolute and total silence from Axl, his mgmt, and the label. Except for a mention of Axl being spotted in a nightclub. So, the guy likes to party, hardly news! I still think this will be the year but I'm thinking either a July or December release.   no

What would you like me to back up? The fact that there is no promotion indicating a release is on the horizon? The fact that there is total silence from the GN'R camp? Not having a single?

Also, I never said the album WAS coming in July or December. But, IMO, those months seem more likey.? Sorry, but I wont be setting myself up for the same disappoint as 2006. When we finally hear from either Axl or his label saying it's complete and on the way, then and only then, will I believe it.? ?ok

6th march is nothing more then a tentative release date, nothing other special with that day (more then efishs and shaq's birthdays) so no nothing will happen that day, they will announce something the next time they are sure of stuff, this could be before and after 6 of march, it could be on 6th of march but that would be just a coincidense with very beat-able odds

I agree. The next time we hear from Axl, we SHOULD have the official date. But, I bet that date will be several months past March 6. I'm just hoping we have a single in the next 90 days. That sounds more realistic to me. I truly hope I am wrong though, but I doubt it.? ?

The whole things just getting boring to be honest.

I dont even come on here muh anymore because predictably theirs no news. And Ive discussed gnrs 3 studio albums to death over the 10 years of being a fan. We need another record and we need it now before axl alienates any more fans.

Last summer everything began to build and build and were given a date, all be it a "12 tuesdays" cryptic date. Then predictably it fell through.

Then we got the open letter which said March 6th, and hinted confirmation of that would be on  its way within weeks... and now nothign again....

I understand that it takes awhile for marketing, record company negotiations, etc.  But if Axl truly thought the record was going to come out by last December.  Wouldn't some of that stuff have been completed in advance of 2007???  It's not like the songs on CD haven't been sitting around for years.

On label negotiations, Axl covered that in his open letter, right?  They wouldn't even talk to him until they heard the final mixes.

On marketing, etc....I suspect the label wasn't going to commit resources to a "mythical" release until they had it in hand.  Imagine what the Beach Boys label would have done had they committed, in an ongoing fashion, resources to promoting "Smile" before they actually had it in hand......it would have been a long and expensive 30 years.

Merck is missed because Axl cant do all this shit on his own. The guy is still fukin around with the album. If he really wanted to release the album sometime last yr like he stated then why has he been in vegas, la, or ny or whereever he is still tinkering with the album? The album, artwork, and everything else should be completed already. Axl should be focusing on contracts, and promotional stuff with the label by now. I just get the feeling hes not really doing much of that at this point in time.

Why are we assuming the studio in NYC is for tinkering with the album.

Prior to the '06 tour, they booked a studio in NYC  for rehersal for about 6 weeks-ish.

The rumors are, he's just booked another studio for a couple months.

There are tour rumors for April.

I mean...I can certainly see a scenario where that studio is not for recording purposes.

In that case, they rehearse quite vigorously, considering they wrapped up a 70 show tour less than two months ago.

Unless they're rehearsing something they've never played together live...

Pilferk, it isn't coming out on March 6th or in March for that matter. No reason to worry about it now. At best, maybe late March or early April-which would be fine with me. peace

I personally doubt March altogether. If I had to wager a guess, I'd go with late April/early May in the current situation.

Then again, guessing what GNR will do is never very easy thing.
