Axl said March 6, and has said nothing since.? It's March 6 until otherwise noted.

Unfortunately, I think it will be otherwise noted very soon.    no

I dont think it's gonna be april....
that's when NIN's "year zero" is due...
and I dont think Interscope would risk 2 of their greatest rock bands fighting over the charts...
And I really doubt GNR would risk a duel with such a strong opponent, since at this moment NIN is far more popular than GNR.

Huh ? Never really thought of NIN being "far more popular" than GUNS.

Well, since neither The fragile (less than one millions copies sold in the US) nor With teeth reached the sells of The downward spiral, and since GN'R's greatest hits sold something like 3,3 million copies in the US, well, you get the picture... Grin

do a google on NIN ticket sales during their last tour...
you'd get the picture.
NIN is far more popular.
With teeth debuted no1 on billboard.
and their European tour was sold out in a matter of days, not weeks.
unlike GNR's.

As much as I love GNR, this guy is right about NIN being more popular at the moment

yea, but the problem with your thinking is that the downward spiral was released before internet downloading was common.  the fragile and with teeth were both released afterwards. plus, the people buying GNR greatist hits are most likely older people in their 30's who aren't too internet savvy.

so, there is no way at all that you can judge popularity based on sales (didn't the industry go through this issue like 10 years ago?)

Well...you answered your own question right there.

NIN has actually released material...

GnR has not.

I'm not sure a band with recently released material being compared to a band who hasn't released an album in 10 years is an accurate comparison of their relative popularity.

nah...
nin's album was also a long wait... 5-6 years,
and their upcoming albums tour has been sold out 5 months before album has even been released.
actually, the tour sold out even before the album started being mixed.

NIN have released 3 albums since GnR released their last one.  Yes, Year Zero is not yet out...but they (he?) released an album in '05.  Still pretty recent.

That's the whole point.

You're comparing apples and oranges.

So, you still really believe this album will be out on March 6th Huh Highly doubt it. That's not negative thinking, it's logical.

How have we ever been let down?Huh??

This is like the first time they spoke and gave a full blown date!

Some bs interviews Axl has said stuff... but this is the first time we got a date.

Quit crying ... the way everything is looking it should be very soon.

Im sure there will be 2-4 songs that are unbelievable. Stuff we have heard so far is just a tease.

i think we're closer to  release than we've ever been and that it will come out between March and May. and i'm not a n00b, i've been on this board a few years now. i still think things are looking up.

Actually, both The Fragile and With Teeth have sold over a million copies domestically and been certified Platinum (or Double Platinum in the case of The Fragile being a double disc).
