Marmite Militia, taking over one piece of toast at a time!!!

« Reply #620 on: February 02, 2007, 08:55:47 AM »

Pilferk, it isn't coming out on March 6th or in March for that matter. No reason to worry about it now. At best, maybe late March or early April-which would be fine with me. peace

Probably so...though I haven't completely ruled out the 6th, yet.  But if we've heard nothing by the end of next week, I'd say that pretty much seals the deal....but for sure everything we've heard from retail (and what I've, personally heard, on that front) would lead you to believe the 6th is out, and the 20th becoming more remote a possibility with each passing day.

every week that passes by should be mulitplied by 2 months. thats how i look at a possible date for the album release, so the first week in april is out of the quesition.

regarding the silence from gnr camp below is a quote form ron thals interview in myspace: ?

"It takes very little effort to let someone know you appreciate them, and if I'm able to make someone happy, why not".

peace!

I personally doubt March altogether. If I had to wager a guess, I'd go with late April/early May in the current situation.

Then again, guessing what GNR will do is never very easy thing.

Exactly.  GnR have proven, both in the past and in the present, that they certainly are not afraid to be...ummm...."non-traditional" (that's a nice way to put it, right?).

Nothing really trully surprises me anymore and guessing what they're going to do has become an intersting diversion.  Axl could hand "Naked Cowboy" 1000 copies of CD for distribution tomorrow, and I don't think I'd raise an eyebrow.

Not for nothing, but your equation just doesn't make any sense.  You can do any sort of "figuring" you want, but the fact is that it's unfounded guesswork, and not good guesswork, at that.

You're saying if the album isn't out in 6 weeks (which would be the March 20th date)...we won't see it til next year? (6weeks * 2 months = 12 months)  How does that make any sense at all?

Edit: Wait, no...I get it.  You mean with every passing week we should ADD 2 months, not multiply by 2 months.

So next week you'd say 2nd week of April is out of the question.

That makes more sense....

I don't know if 3/6 is out or not..I'm hoping we get a new add or something during the Superbowl. 65-80 million people watch and you're never going to hit a larger, more diverse audience in one swoop than that

Can't remember if it was said in this thread, or elsewhere, but....the ad breakdown (what ads during which quarter hour) is already out and has been published in a number of newspapers (and online).  No Superbowl GnR ad scheduled.

Why are we assuming the studio in NYC is for tinkering with the album.

Prior to the '06 tour, they booked a studio in NYC  for rehersal for about 6 weeks-ish.

The rumors are, he's just booked another studio for a couple months.

There are tour rumors for April.

I mean...I can certainly see a scenario where that studio is not for recording purposes

fair enough but time is running out for a March 6th release. Anytime between end of March to May and Ill be happy.

But until we hear rumblings or maybe even a confirmation that the label has the album we are months n months away.

I posted this AOL link a couple days ago when the whole "what label will release the album" speculation was going on. Not sure if you saw it or if your even interested but here's what it says :

"David Geffen's record company was the label for 'Democracy' for many unrewarding years, finally washing their hands of it by tossing it to Interscope. "
