God knows, but i presume the band hes talking about are based in LA....... if it is true then it confirms the rumour we heard a while back that Axl has 2 months worth of studio time booked in NY!

Jonx

A Place To Bury Strangers are gearing up for the release of their first 'official' EP, currently being recorded at a studio in Brooklyn.

So that would mean that GNR is working in LA?

I dont remember who said guitar tracks were being laid in new york but i had heard it was being done in LA in mid january.

far as this guy they dont say exactly when he was going to california to do the guns thing. and they also don't say what he's doing for chinese democracy if it was recent. so if he's recently working on it he could be doing mixing or mastering which means the album wouldnt be delayed much from the march 6th schedule. i think it'll be between march 21 and april 21 hihi

Mark Strigl said in his blogg:

"o clarify, Bumblefoot did use my Les Paul in his final recording session for the next Guns N Roses album. The sessions took place last month here in New York City."

So they are maybe now recording in NY but they did the record in LA a while a ago, right?

sounds like it's mixing -- that's a good thing.  If they stopped recording, that is.

The article says "currently being recording in a studio in Brooklyn".

So I take that to mean he is working with GNR now if he is working on both projects.  Just what he is doing is anyone's guess.

It's evident after reading the article that Guns are in L.A. Like I said before it states that the "A Place to Bury Strangers" band are recording in NY and if the guy (John) is traveling back and fourth from NY to LA that would put GNR in L.A. I tried looking for a contact or atleast some pictures of this guy and there is barely anything other than a few album he was credited for mixing. It would be great if anyone could dig up a contact for this guy, I e-mailed the band and asked if they knew if he was mixing or recording: no reply yet. My personal opinion is: This guy is mixing or doing Pro-Tools work on the album. If you look at his track record the only "major" albums he's done, have all been mixing or Pro-Tools.
