On topic... Yeah Axl owns... To bad he wasted so many years!

"Wasting" all of those years is just one of the many things that makes Axl who he is. It's what makes him unique. The guy does what he wants when HE wants too. He doesn't give a shit about what ANYONE has to say about it. He lives by his rules and doesn't even follow those half the time. He's Axl fucking Rose and he's in a league of his own in my eyes. That's why I spend so much time at this fucking website... because I BELIEVE in what he has done and what he's about to do.

As right as you are.. I hope he hasent waited to long to do this thing, just because he wanted to do what he wants....

He's certainly up there for sure. Freddie Mercury has a better voice but not a better stage presence. I'd say Axl is on a similar level to Robert Plant. Great voice, incredible stage presence - but Freddie's voice puts him into a league of his own since his stage presence is just as good as Axl and Plant's.

As much as I love GnR, you're all kidding yourselves if you think he is the greatest frontman of all time. That title belongs to either Freddie Mercury of Jim Morrison. Axl is an amazing frontman but those two are just on a whole other level.

I would say freddie mercury is the greatrest singer, followed by robin zander but in terms of frontmen, freddie wasn't THAT incredible. Axl is definitley one of, if not the best frontmen out there.

I think lots of people here will say freddie mercury,

i dunno myself, i have always loved steven tyler but not the way i love axl, david lee roth, jim morrison is 2 other big ones, but probably still axl

and btw plant is overrated

You mightn't like Led Zeppelin but overrated is completely the wrong word. Led Zeppelin inspired every rock band that came after. Robert Plant wrote the book on Axl's style of singing. He was the first of those high-pitched rock n' roll singers. And unlike a lot of rock n' roll pioneers his ability still stands up against the best today, in his vocal range and his lyrics. I prefer Axl overall in the studio, as his lyrics are more relevant and coz of the way he sings, but live, Plant is untouchable. His consistency over concerts which stretched to over 3 hours regularly, was amazing. I think we can all admit, Axl was always inconsistent live (think Tokyo DVD's). When he's on form he is incredible, and I can understand why you'd prefer him, but calling Plant over-rated is rediculous, regardless of your personal tastes!

I don't think this thread is about, "Who the best frontman of all-time is??" That argument has been done a thousand times. I think this thread is more about what makes Axl a great frontman?? What makes him different than the thousands of others out there?? What makes him so unique??

Rose, Plant, Jagger, Tyler, Morrison, thay are all similar, they have a classic Rock N' Roll frontman aura. But Freddie was in a league of his own....

Well erm..

i just watched the stones call axl n izzy up for "salt of the earth" in 1989....Axl kills Jagger. Axl and Petty in 89, Axl rules Petty....Axl and Springsteen same year i think, maybe 1990? still the same case, axl rose wins.

I know I believe Axl Rose is the greatest front man of all time, better even than Plant. Why do you think Axl is #1. Thats a big title, number one front man of all time......and if u disagree, who is?Huh in my eyes, no one comes close to the magic and energy that Axl Rose has....he demands attention, has the most unique and coolest voice, great song-writer, great stage presence.....seriously, who is better?? NO ONE!

Hence my reply.? ok

I think Axl is one of the best in biz, past or present. However, having seen the Chilis this year, I can say that Anthony Kiedis is a fucking great front man aswell.
