We couldn't ask this at the time but what was the december release date? What tuesday was Chinese Democracy coming out?
Some people claimed they knew the exact date, but was there really a date or were the just lying? Did they really know something or were they just making it up?
And to those who "did" know the date... what did you feel like when this tuesday passed?

In Axl's open letter he says something like it was his and Merck's intention to have the album out no later than the 26th of December. Don't quote me, but it was something like that.

I personally don't know IF there was ever a specific date that they had planned. I doubt it. I personally think Baz would say just about whatever, just for the attention. Don't get me wrong, I like him, but I definitely? think he owes Axl alot. Hell, if i recall correctly he even made the statement "no one has done more for me than Axl Rose". Opening up for Guns is probably the best thing that could have happened to him. Actually, reuniting w/ Skid Row would be the best thing that could happen to him. Opening up for Guns is 2nd.? ?ok

We need a March 6th speculation thread. I tried starting a new one but was denied. I'm hoping the fact that it was tossed to the Dead Horse doesn't indicate that Jarmo was tipped off that nothing will happen on the 6th.?

I remember in December when the cd release date rumor thread was shitcanned . The next day (if I recall correctly) Axl's open letter surfaced. I'm not saying Jarmo knows anything new. Just speculating.

I know Sebastian talked the release date but I wasn't referring to him. I'm talking about all the fans "who think they know what's going on in Guns N' Roses but have no idea". Or maybe they did?
If anyone had any info I guess it 'd be Jarmo. Did they give you a december date, and what was it?
Who knows, march 6th can still be THE date we're waiting for. As long as this date is on gunsnroses.com I think there's a good chance.

No, March  6th will not be the album release, but I am trying (and I do emphasize trying) to remain optimistic that we will have either a single or firm release date by then. I think we'll hear something within the next 24 days... but whether we like what we hear remains to be seen.   smoking

I think November 21st was as close to "real" date as we got last year.

Despite Merck denying it, I always had strong, strong feelings about that date.

..Also, the "Better" Harley ad first appeared online essentially a month to the day before November 21st... Wink

Yeah, maybe their goal were to release it the september 21th but we will never know their real goal to release it in 2006, the only thing we know is that they wanted to release it before the end of 2006 and thats why they wrote in the letter that they wanted to get it out before 26:th december because its the last day of 2006 that they would be able to release it at.

Wouldn't it make more sense to speculate on a day in the future that it might happen on instead of a date last year that it didn't ? Just my opinion...

This is going way, way back to 2002 or '03, but I seem to remember Chinese Democracy being listed in a Best Buy with a release date of December 4th, but it could have been the 3rd.

In any case, the Chinese Democracy portion of the ad ended up being pulled, and of course, no album was ever released.. Sad

I remember that as well. Best Buy had the album listed for a Dec. 3, 2002 release date. Bizarre.

Does anyone know where this particular date came from ? I mean was that day ever hinted at by the Mgmt or label ?
