Please oh please be a normal looking mainstream video.

thats just lame man, perhaps u should stop watching so much mainstream crap

oh come on, i'm sure jackamo meant a normal video not an "estranged" kind of thing
Exactly.

I don't even like today's radio- or the current music videos on TV.

But that's whats needed to get airplay- and sell albums these days.

I want Chi D to sell as much as possible.

Great news if true. I always thought it would be first single/video.....

But here's the thing: Would they really send it to a bunch of different directors? And this person would have to be really on the inside to know that, so who knows......

Because that's the way it works. They'll send the song off to different production companies and the directors will write a treatment and send them back to the band to see which one they want.

That is not what's needed to get airplay. Boobs and bling are just substitutes for the horrible music. If the music is good you can pretty much put whatever you want in the video.

Frankly, I'm surprised, if it's true, that Axl sees a need to put out a music video. Videos these days are secondary on both MTV and VH1, and other networks like Much Music and Fuse aren't available on a lot of cable systems. Why bother? Leave the videos to shit bands like Nickelback.

They should film the video in the same place they did Sweet Child O' Mine, and have exactly the same camera angles and clips.

No offense, but why, exactly? ?I'd think the *last* thing the current lineup would want to do is evoke memories or images of the previous members. ?Besides, the first single - presumably Better - will be a wake-up call to the world, introducing (and re-introducing) the band to many, many fans. ?There's simply no need to retread anything that has been done before.

Just because videos aren't as important as they once were doesn't mean they're not necessary. If you don't have a video radio becomes your only option. That's millions of potential consumers down the drain.

There will be a video, there should be a video.

To invoke sexual thoughts and increase decreasing ticket sales. Understandable, but unwarranted by me.

My point still stands.

in any case i highly doubt the channels here in canada (much music, much more music) will play a single new GNR video (i know they play the old ones and gnr profile 24/7 but i just dont see new gnr being on this channel).  they are too hard rock for muchmoremusic and not young and emo enough for muchmusic.  MAYBE they will get put on muchmoremusic, but i doubt it

Why are they bothering with a music video- who do they expect to play it?

At the top of my head, all the top 10/20/50/100 shows that air in every industrial country.

well i can tell you that i never listen to the radio so videos are almost the only way i found out what songs are released as singles and stuff like that, the music channels will play it, at least in europe, nowadays mtv is not as it was back then but wtf, i want a new video,

btw, all other bands/artists make videos so why shouldn't gnr, it'll help 'em get more mainstream again, and mainstream is what sells record and that's how to make money, and people will recognize the new bands, there really are more positive things then negatives when it comes to making a video

 rofl yeah...

Example:

Meat Loaf released on a nice looking video, decent song, featuring a very attractive female.
But.
I only seen it on TV twice.

Then it disapeared.

Too busy playing "Sexyback" these days to care about comebacks.
