how long after the tentative date, is tentative indeed tentative, and after how long does "tentative" become only a smokescreen?

how many months post a tentative date is ineed "unexpected problems", and how long after the tentative date does it become, just another lie?
and this is not suposed to be a bash festival, just a sort of a poll to see where everyones expectations are.

personally, 4 months delay is tentative imo(and that's a streatch), after that it's a lie.

A tentative release date is a nice way of giving you something but also giving you nothing at the same time. Ya, as duga said a month after the 6th would be acceptable anything longer then that and its "unexpected problems".  Smiley

well, if they are to tour, than they must think that the album will be done by then.
otherwise, what would be the reason to cancel the last dates of US tour?

You could have said the exact same thing before they toured the US last fall. Why cancel/postpone the opening tour dates when they knew the album wouldn't be ready for release last year?

There is no rhyme or reason as to why Axl does anything the way he does.

I was thinking the same, and who booked the new dates? Did Merck have them lined up before he left. If Axl, or someone instructed by Axl did it then he most be confident that the album will be wrapped and handed over by those dates. We might not have the album by then but it should not be long after those dates then. ?Smiley

because allegedly Merck fucked up.
this time there's no merck to fuck up.

@ rds, we are 6-8 weeks(tops) away after the first show in Africa.
or at least that's what logic suggests.

but optimistically we might get a single in april?

Hopefully in April, announce delay with the album, give a set date, drop single, do shows, drop album, announce world tour, go on tour. This is very very wishful thinking, known of the above will prob happen apart from the shows. But hey im aloud to dream.  peace

Within 2 months of the tentative date would seem reasonable if they were as close to completion as Axl implied in the open letter.

To begin playing live dates again (27th April) with no album (or at least no firm release date )would seem to be madness.

tentative can remain tentative as long as they want.  like i can say, "i have tentative plans to be a star nfl quarterback and make jessica alba my wife."  it doesn't mean it's ever really going to happen.  what, you were expecting an actual release date?!  come on now, you're never going to get one of those.  only real bands that make real music really release albums.

i'd say 4 months is way too generous...+/-2 months is about right...i'd be a tad worried if we don't hear anything by april.

Due to the fact that they are scheduling the third leg of the tour, I'm sure we will get news before March 6 (since they can't keep that date any longer on the official website) and the album around the time the tour kicks off which I guess will be sometime in April.

i would say they can keep that day online for years Smiley

but hey, when will we understand that we have to be patient and forget about "the release date"
just try to enjoy new tour and new concerts. then we'll see

only glitch
now that almost the whole word of GNR fans have seen the band live with new and old songs (yes we enjoy them)
what will be the escuse of not playing more of the new songs ?Wink

Here we go yet again. I'm definately dissappointed that the Super Bowl was not used to begin promotion. There's just no way that the album is coming out on March 6th. ?And we're back to not being given any info. BAck to having to put up with bullshit attention whore rumors.

A bunch of fans dropped out on the broken promise of "out by the end of the year (2006)". More are gonna drop. At this point we're looking at April or May. We've put up with this bullshit for years and on and on and on it continues. Big fuckin joke this is becoming and we are the brunt of this big long ass 10 year plus joke.

i guess 2007 will be the year when GNR brings the rest of the world (south africa, africa, middle east, australia, asia) what we the US and europe got in 2006

so in 2008 when everybodys knows the band, they can release a CD

GREAT PLAN !!!!

there's rumored life on mars...
they might tour there.
there's no better place to start promoting "chinese democracy" than the "red planet" it self!

so I guess you people agree that 2 months is tentative enough.

I'm going with 2 months. Any longer than that should be justified.
