I think Set Me Free could've been a GN'R song. It has a bit of a You Could Be Mine vibe to it, the way it starts with the riff on it's own, then the rest of the band kicks in, and has the big rock out bit at the end. Suckertrain Blues sounds a bit like a UYI era rocker too.

VR sounds more like STP than GNR, but,  I can imagine Axl on Slither, Sucker Train Blues, Loving the Alien, and Fall to Pieces.

No one ever felt that that Dirty Little Thing sounds a little like It's so easy? It's not exact but I think it has totally the same vibe...The beginning, Bridge...get away from the drugs - see me hit you etc

The only VR song i can hear axl singin is set me free, for me thats the only decent song VR have ( and its still pretty shit really), just my opinion. Scott weilands just never had his own style, visually and vocally. On some of the VR tracks i think hes actually tryin to sound like axl.

Yeah, Dirty Little Thing does have a bit of an It's So Easy vibe about it, now that you mention that bit. Plus both start with Duff's bass line.

All this has made me go back and check out Contraband again, and I still stand by my words that it's a solid rock album from start to finish with moments of greatness.

I think VR have a tough job ahead of them to come out with a new lead single for Libertad that will top Slither.
