A CGI Ghostbusters III?
Source: CISN Country February 2, 2007

Dan Aykroyd visited radio station CISN Country and revealed that a Ghostbusters III is in the works.

Aykroyd said that the film will be CGI and Bill Murray has agreed to do the voice of Dr. Peter Venkman. No word on whether Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson or any other of the original actors will return to voice their characters.

i dont see why they cant just do a live action movie, its not like there to old or anything. if they can bring back a 64 year old Indiana Jones then they can do a live action ghostbusters

I remember when Ghostbusters 3 was in the works 10 years ago. Ackroyd was writing it for Chris Farley.  When he died, so did the project. Will Smith was also supposed to be in it.

Ghostbusters III with Farley and Will Smith would have been amazing. Sucks that it never happened - we lost Farley far too soon.  no

Sorta doubt that this will actually get done .

Hell if my memory serves me right,Aykroyd has been saying that it's going to get made for over 10 years now.

The way I see it, its a lot like Chinese Democracy. Numerous setbacks have occurred to this movie over the years.

-Bill Murray didn't want to do it.

-The original script was written with Chris Farley in mind as others have said, and he left us too early.

-I'm pretty sure it was rewritten about 3 times.

^ true.

but a cartoon version , doesn't sound too hot. they should just do it with new people in the main roles and have Aykroyd as a boss figure. Then have one or two of the other guys in a cameo role.

You mean like a crappy remake starring Ashton Kutcher or something like that?  No thanks, I'd rather just see the series left the way it is.  Remakes are horrid and not meant to be.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

The weird thing is that Murray will voice the Peter Venkman character, but the CGI version can't resemble him.

Please dont let this be true. The second one wasn't that bad, but even it shouldn't have been made.

BTW, how many people remember when everyone took the names of Ghostbuster characters on the board. Reading the list of who was online was pretty damn funny.

I was just thinking of that the other day, very funny.

My favorite was the person who had "I ain't afraid of no Axl" as their personal text.

A live action movie with them coming out of retirement to fight an evil foe or something like that would be cool

No not a remake . Just a third one with Dan as the boss/trainer of a new crop of ghostbusters. with the other guys making cameos.

If they did do a remake with new guys it'd be cool to adam sandler or some of the snl crew from the early 90's in it.
