Anyone else reading/hearing about this?  Probably the DUMBEST thing I've heard about in over a decade.  People really have the ability to be completely retarded.

"More than three dozen electronic signs were placed in high-profile spots in Boston weeks before authorities responded Wednesday. Authorities shut down highways, bridges and river traffic while bomb squads checked out devices that turned out to be harmless. There was barely a stir in nine other cities across the country where similar devices were placed."

Imagine being delayed for hours, stuck on a bridge b/c of a neon cartoon character sign??!?! hahahahah

I saw this while running at the gym Wednesday and I thought to myself, How ignorant and fearful has our country become?

It was quite sad actually and I must give Bush a hand.

His fear tactics have worked beyond anything anyone could ever dream up.

I pity our country these days.

Bush will definitely address the country on this one.

"My fellow Americans....I am proud to bring you the news of a foiled terror plot against our beloved country by those Al-Qaeda associates known as Master Shake, Frylock and Meatwad.  They had a plan to strike in vicious attacks that would make 9/11 seem like a sparkler on the fourth of July.  CIA Intel has also brought to our attention that Cartoon Network was owned by Saddam Hussein and funded numerous terrorist organizations.  From this moment forth, our country will no longer bowdown to these terrorists and we have created a new card deck incorporating the top terrorists in the world.  Among these new Al-Qaeda recruits are Yogi Bear, Speed Racer, Buddy Lembeck from Charles In Charge, Alf, the cast of Just the 10 of Us and Kirk Cameron.  Freedom will be attained and we will stop at nothing until these terrorists are destroyed."

That press conference was CLASSIC!  1) b/c of how they kept such a straight face and how much the reporters were getting pissed off and 2) b/c how the news program cut to the news conference as if it was REALLY breaking news....and then they stayed on it for a few minutes when it was pretty clear it was just the two guys being really silly.

Awesome.  I hate the media in the country right now - its biased, its "breaking news" with nothing happening and no real news (just speculation) and a total lack of true investigative reporting.

I think this whole story is pretty silly too. ?Mostly because I'm a pretty big fan of ATHF. ?However, I don't get why people think it's so bizzarre that we fear terrorism. ?I just don't get it. ?A few years ago terrorists attacked us in a pretty big way. ?Why is it so strange to fear that they would do it again?

So, yeah, the Aqua Teens thing. Being one of my favorite shows for some time, I guess I should talk about it. A flat board with a primitive, Lite-Brite looking LCD display and a magnet backing apparently looks enough like a bomb to have the Boston police overreact and cause mass hysteria by closing down major roadways, attempting to detonate one of the cartoon advertisements, and then arresting the two marketing artists who created them. This despite the fact that the marketing agency had previously sought and been granted permission for the advertising stunt from the police deparments in nine cities, including Boston. I guess not all of the cops were quite aware of what they were agreeing to. A little research into something goes a long way. And that?s just before the bomb squad shows up. Living free has become living in fear. This country has sucked dick since 9/11, with uneducated right winged assholes who allow their opinions to be formed for them by Faux News and Fearless Leader dubbing this the ?post 9/11 world.? Nothing?s changed, people are still just as stupid. Pull your head out of Sheppard Smith?s ass long enough to look at the sad world you?re really living in. I?m sure at ease knowing the War on Terror now targets what they perceive to be cartoons that pose a threat. Shouldn?t we be seeking Count Chocula?s permission before we invade Cartoon Network? Seeing the bogeyman around every corner isn?t making us any safer. It should never have come to this, but giving a dictatorship administration the keys to our privacy and freedoms maybe wasn?t the best move. Neither is blaming the ?liberal media? or ?college potheads.? Who?s the real War on Terror being fought against? It sure looks to me like the only losers in this game are the American people, and they?re too fucking blindly proud and ignorant to notice the shit?s now up past their ears. You?re buried in it. Suck on that.

B/C it wouldn't be in the form of a light brite-esque atari graphic giving you the middle finger.....

There is absolutely NOTHING that indicated that this should or could have been a credible threat.? The city FREAKED THE FUCK OUT before they even knew what was going on.....the fear/panic was contagious - I think the city of New York handled the actual attacks on 9-11 then Boston did during the Cartoon Wars.

Whats truly scary is imagine if this was a real/credible attack.? Just goes to show you how truly vulnerable we still are 5 years since 9-11 - we've learned nothing.

Thanks and sadly not, it's all mine. I was half expecting to get flamed, but I'm glad to see most of us GN'R fans here think alike on the subject.
