VELVET REVOLVER has been selected by John Varvatos, the man behind the award-winning clothing brand, to be the face of the brand's spring 2007 ad campaign.

Created by New York agency Yard, with photography by music documentarian Danny Clinch, the campaign captures the members of VELVET REVOLVER in such Los Angeles locations as the Hollywood Boulevard.

The VELVET REVOLVER campaign is expected to run for six months and include print, Internet and outdoor advertising.

Check out some of the pictures at www.johnvarvatos.com.

VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum revealed during a Camp Freddy Radio broadcast on Los Angeles' Indie 103.1 FM earlier in the month that the band will team up with AEROSMITH for some South American dates in April. The trek is expected to include stops in Argentina, Brazil and Colombia.

VELVET REVOLVER is recording its second album, tentatively titled "Libertad", with producer Brendan O'Brien, who's worked with AUDIOSLAVE, PEARL JAM and singer Scott Weiland's former group, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS. An initial stint with producer Rick Rubin did not work out.:

VELVET REVOLVER hopes to release "Libertad" in early May. Weiland is also working on his second solo album, which he said will surface sometime in 2008 on his own label, Softdrive Records.

in case that photo is lost on anyone who hasn't seen the show, here's the transcript from that scene. i can picture the photo director shouting it to VR doing the shoot.

Cartman: No no no! Haven't you guys ever seen an album cover? You're supposed to be standing in random places, looking away like you don't care! [Butters and Cartman move apart. Token moves off to a boulder a little farther away, Butters moves a bit clsoer to the camera]

Butters: Cheese!

Cartman: No! Butters, you can't look happy on the album cover! That's not cool!

Butters: Oh...

Cartman: Token, look away to the right. [Token looks off to the right] More. [Token turns his head to the right] More!

Token: [turns all his body to the right] Why the hell would I be looking way over there??

Cartman: So it looks like you're too cool to care that you're on an album cover, you black asshole! Now just hold it!

I never excepted to see Duff in a white suit, but there he is.

I know Scott and Matt are into fashion but Slash, he's a t-shirt kinda guy.

The picture look cool, but Irather have another vlog from their web site.

Well, if you look at past campaigns, the likes of Iggy Pop, Chris Cornell, Joe Perry and Ryan Adams have all been featured for this clothing line.

Slash needs to turn that collar up, but I love the pic. Can anyone get it up here for us? I can't save the image from that website. It would make a cool desktop.

This was a two page ad in Vanity Fair this month.  Also, this photo was taken in front of Bob's Frolic Room, which is next door to the Pantages theatre.  The Frolic was featured in many movies, most notably "LA Confidential."  Boadouche's show also had him being a drama queen at the Frolic.

behind-the-scenes video clip of VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland talking about the photo shoot for clothing designer John Varvatos' spring 2007 ad campaign ? featuring VELVET REVOLVER ? has been posted online at this location.

In other news, Weiland told James Patrick Herman of In Style at Clive Davis's annual pre-Grammy blowout on Saturday (Feb. 10) that he is designing a collection for Hugo Boss.

...

I'm sorry to point this out, but picture signatures aren't allowed on this board, if I recall correctly... Not trying to be all schoolteacher-like or anything, just wanted to say something before a mod does Wink.
