This is from a review of John Mellencamp's Freedom's Road, just to point out this journalist's expectations of albums in 2007.

http://blogcritics.org/archives/2007/01/29/082310.php

I?m going to start this review by saying that no other album has a chance of competing with Guns N Roses? Chinese Democracy as the best album of 2007, if it's actually released, except for Freedom?s Road. If you know me personally you will understand the weight that this statement holds. Mellencamp?s new album is easily his most important work since his 1985 masterwork Scarecrow.

Kinda off topic but glad to see that John Mellencamp is making a comeback.

He's married to Elaine Irwin who was a VS model when Stephanie Seymour was one.

Mellencamp is probably one of the most underrated singer-songwriters America has ever produced.

these little mentions here and there are very good and are getting the public that is in the dark about G'n'R today thinking "hmm maybe i should check this out". G'n'R is slowly but surely picking up speed. The whole internet comunity will get to taste G'n'R first then other people will see and hear what they are talking about and then soon the non-internet comunity will also check into it as well. This is a very good thing these little mentions mean that people are aware of what is happening and soon so shale more, in time. smoking

I think any GN'R fan will agree that nothing will compete with CD when its released, but it's good to hear a non-diehard agrees with our opinion for once.

Yeah, CD doesn't have much competition, musically, but from a marketing point of view, MetallicA etc. are bigger these days.. Then again, GN'R have never release a bad song.. Good reputation.. peace

He sounds biased towards his favorite bands, but it's nice to see good press for both groups.

The writer sounds a huge fan of GN'R. Or at least he must have been blown away by the new songs. Grin

there are quite a lot of GnR mentions lately
