Autograph Question

Guys... I am new to the boards and looking for a little assistance.? I recently purchased an autographed GNR poster online for my brother who is a huge fan... I too am a fan, however mainly just of the music and not the coming and goings of various members over the years.?

The poster has five signatures on it:

?? ? ? 1)? Axl
? ? ? ?2)? Slash
? ? ? ?3)? Steven Adler
? ? ? ?4)? Duff
? ? ? ?5)? R L -- Clean crisp R L initals... this is where my question comes in... do any of you know who this is or what this stands? for?

To the best of my memory, and from my brief history check online... based upon the first four members who signed the other signature should be of Izzy... however I have looked at a couple of other signed pieces which do have Izzy and this is not his signature.? I am in the process of checking with outfit that I bought the poster from, but I thought you guys may be able to shed some light.?

Any information would be appreciated.

Dude, I can't be positive...but all the sigs on there look kind of wierd, I think it's fake. None of them look quite right. Alot of signatures from ebay are fake.

My piece came with a COA (I know those don't necessarily mean anything)... but these folks seem to be on the up and up.  I feel that the signatures are authentic...I have seen a couple signed pieces before and these signatures are comparible, especially Slash and Axl's.  I have requested photo proof if available.

Any idea on who/what the RL is?

to answer the first item, to me it's fake.

anyway you should never buy any GNR autograph on ebay they are almost all fakes, i chek ebay very often on signature & i assure you 99% are fake, never seen so many fakes on a rock band more than GNR i dont know why. i guess demand is probably high & getting signatures of them (except slash who is always ok & happy with it) is so hard. hardest being axl of course.

at last their signatures worth & value something compared to some rock bands where you have thousands & thousands (real of course) signatures everywhere & their values is almost nothing.
axl's signature is $$$$$$ & thats why you have so many fakes IMO

Let's think about this for a second...  RL... nobody from Guns N' Roses has EVER had those initials.  Does Roberta's last name begin with an L?? Haha... Alright, I'm going to say it's fake and the person that's making them is signing RL based on lack of knowledge about the band. There's another item on ebay with the same RL on it and I think they're just being made by the same person and have probably made their rounds on ebay and are now being sold by various different people.

Usually when people sell signatures and give a COA they say, "100% money back guarantee!!!"  I would try to get my money back for it if I were you. Unless you can post some pics that are a little closer to the other sigs, they do look like fakes.  I'm looking at my signatures now and the ones I have I have got in person myself and the Slash signature is a fake from the looks of it.  The Axl one is a little iffy because I can hardly see it. The others are really hard to make out as well.

People here know what they're talking about when it comes to GNR collector's items, so try to send the poster back and get a refund.  You've been duped, but it happens to us all at least once in our lives.

Oh and how you said that slash's signature looks real...trust me, I just met him 2 weeks ago and had him sign my tophat in person and watched him sign many other itmes that night and that is NOT his signature. They even tried to recreate the little skull and they did a horrible job.

i must say i didnt know that one, i'm a little surprised but i'd say this pick might be a fake as well, you have no idea how many fake picks there is on ebay too. after fake signature fake picks are the second nature in rock items, i know there are so many fake picks on metallica where printing is not in the center, not clear, i can show you some if you like, about gnr i never noticed many fakes for now, of course there are but thats not the major part, but this believe in me pick is surely one of them, i saw duff during his BIM tour supporting scorpions, i cant really remember if the picks were like that, so i'm not 100% sure of what i say now but even if i dont remember exactly about having seen the BIM draw on it, i'm pretty sure about the size & form & it wasnt like that at all, plus i'd add that the printing is not clear as official picks are. but i may be wrong on this one.

finally to come back on the sign poster, the only thing is to obtain the signature in person, the rest is very risky about gnr cos as they are so rare & ppl are making fake for money. thats easy & many fans will? never see the difference. they add a stupid COA that worth absolutelly nothing, by the way if you see COA delivered,this should tell you there s good chances you are gonna buy a fake (cos real stuff dont need that), they also add money back garantee, it makes me laugh cos i'm sure if you ask for money back you ll never get a chance to see $$ back, you just been scammed. sorry

plus you have to consider that on all recent signatures you cant have axl & slash together on the same LP or cd or whatever cos axl refuses to sign if there already is slash signature. so if you see axl 06 & slash 2k5 there is something wrong especially with the same pen... the opposite might be ok (slash 2k7 & axl 06 cos axl signed first)
