Queen went to South Africa in 1984-5, when it was communist, they got blacklisted by the UN they redeemed themselves through their participation in Live Aid.

It vwould be cool to see GNR go to South Africa, why not?

South Africa wasn't communist in those days. we were a so called democracy with apartheid. that's why they were blacklisted. the white south african government called the ANC and other freedom fighters communist to garner support from other countries fighting communism.

i'm from RSA, and GNR would easy pack a 60.000 stadium....so much so, in fact, that they would have to add another show, just to cope with the demand.

as someone mentioned earlier, the obsession here rivals the South American enthusiasm and turnout.
