wicked!  i LOVE ratm.  come back sweet music, come back!  I do love chris cornell, but Audioslave have never impressed me much.
Come to UK, ratm.

(first time i saw Ratm was 1994 at the first ever T in the park festival in Scotland. Cypress Hill were supposed to play before them, but got delayed at Heathrow airport - poor bastards - so when they turned up it was really late, but Rage invited them onstage and they did a combined set - FCN great!

what the fuck, i'm not generally a dude who says i heard this thing from a friend to a friend, but that guy i talked to for a while, said that there were more then one show? Huh

he said he heard it on the radio first they said one show then they (prolly DJ) said that they (RATM) would continue as a band for now or something, but the radio thingie don't make much sense to me since why the fuck should sweden get it before USA, you know what i mean,
i didn't wanna be a negative ass to him so i just said ok cool,

I believe that its a band called the Connecticut Yankees.

Also - I never really dug Rage outside of a few songs. Never saw the big deal about them, but that's just me.

i think the main question here is whether its just a one time thing or if they will play more shows/record an album. i mean audioslave is on hiatus for a while with Cornell working on his solo album and Morello doing stuff with The Nightwatchman so i guess its possible for them to record an album or tour a bit...i guess we'll find out at some point.

Shit yes, im so going to this!! I went a couple years ago and it was a lot of fun, hopefully there wont be as many shitty indie bands though.

Has it been comfirmed to who else is playing? I saw the list on blabbermouth but there were only about 10-15 bands and there's usually a lot more.

The best thing Chris Cornell ever did, as far as my tastes go, was the Casino Royale theme. I've always been a fan of Rage, but Audioslave plain sucked. They're pussed out radio rock. It saw one of the most talented rhythm sections in recent rock turned into shit. Tom Morello went from playing innovative, heavy riffs to playing generic, embarassing, light shit. This is good news and hopefully the end of Audioslave, a band whose singer is known for his screaming ability and range who uses neither.

Yeah, I've often wondered about that.? Cornell's voice sounds rather dry, thin and wispy to me these days (especially live) and I don't hear him coming anywhere near the vocal range he once had.? Do you feel this is a conscious/creative decision on his behalf, perhaps age, or is there another reason?

Does anybody know if Chris has ever had surgery to remove any polyps from his vocal chords?

Anyway, I've always thought he was an amazing singer, but his voice just sounds a bit off to me these days.

Cheers,

I do feel it's a conscious decision. Maybe he feels that singing style is more suited to a band like Soundgarden and he may find it dated now. I don't know, but I do know that aside from their first single "Cochise," he hasn't really rocked it pretty hard at all. Not that he was balls out on that song either. Again though, he did the Casino Royale theme and was putting out a better range than he has on any of the three Audioslave albums, which brings me back to believing this is a conscious, creative decision. That's where the band clearly wanted to go, as even Tom Morello's guitar work is very under played. Everything is so under played. I just never cared for it.

yeah thats what Im figuring too. they're all stepping it down a few notches to stay radio friendly. that don't fly with me!
anyway, GREAT news about RATM. I hope they're coming to their senses and make this a permanent move, but I don't really believe in it.
