GNR FOREVER!!!! AXL'S THE BEST!!!!!!!!!

« on: January 20, 2007, 01:07:02 PM »

i just realized u guys dont have a Rage Against The Machine thread, SHAME ON YOU!! anyway:

According to MTV.com, AUDIOSLAVE guitarist Tom Morello's debut solo album as the NIGHTWATCHMAN will land in stores April 24. "One Man Revolution" will feature 13 songs, with Morello playing acoustic guitar and singing lead vocals for the first time. Morello, who has performed as the NIGHTWATCHMAN a handful of times ? most notably at protest events ? plans to tour this spring and will perform in March at the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas.

In related news, Billboard.com reports that rumors are gaining strength that Morello's previous band RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE may be reuniting for the first time in six-plus years to play the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival this spring.

After RAGE split in 2000, Morello formed AUDIOSLAVE with his old band's rhythm section of Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk. However, AUDIOSLAVE is on hiatus while frontman Chris Cornell records a solo album and has no plans to tour in support of its third album, "Revelations", released last fall.

And while AUDIOSLAVE refused to play RAGE songs live on its early tours, the band eventually began incorporating them into its sets in summer 2005.

As for RAGE frontman Zach de la Rocha, little has been heard from him since the breakup, although he is said to be on good terms with his ex-bandmates.

this would be beyond awesome. Smashing Pumpkins and Rage Against The Machine reuniting to combat this shitty music scene??? i dig it.

yeah this would be great, in my opinion they were getting better and better. The Battle of Los Angeles was my favorite record by them and it got rave reviews.

To be honest, I've never really enjoyed anything Audioslave put out.  I'm a huge rage fan, and I really like Cornell's voice (although not a big fan of Soundgarden), but I've been consistently let down by what Audioslave has put out.   A Rage reuinion, even if it's simply a one-off show, would be welcome...

I think we're all just being a bit too lazy here...I'm sure we can somehow turn this into a "new band" vs. "old band" debate.  hihi

2007 is rocking so far, this only adds to it.

Come back of rock and metal, does 2007 hold this?

Hot damn, that is fantastic news.  With De La Rocha's solo album still awaiting release, I can only hope they all enjoy playing together and make it more than a one-time deal.  If not, so be it...it'll be great to see them together again.
