I'm Shocked that so many of you put so much Faith in Axl when he said 2006. He's done so many Drugs, he 's probably thinking this is still the 90's Once the CD is released it will go to #1 but the following week it will fall off the Charts, Word of Mouth will kill it. That's why they are so Scared about releasing it, "The Aftermath Affect" Right now I'll stick with a Great Band from Sweden called "Evergrey" that releases a great new CD each year, plus they rock the socks off Guns n Roses. I'd like to see them beat the Song "I should" off the "Monday Morning Apocalyse" CD. Yes too many Drugs will make you a "LIar". Grow-Up Gun N Roses an act like Adults.

In my opinion, if they wanted to do a surprise release and have it be as successful as it could be, a release date would have been sent to retailers. A fake one, like February 26, 2007.

That way, Amazon and most other retailers could still accept pre-orders; GNR could go on saying "we're not sure, but it should be out by then." And then one day you end up getting a ship notification much earlier than you anticipated.

I used to believe in the surprise theory, and I still hope for it, but I don't think it is reasonable to think it will be out this year anymore.

Yeah....Axl's a complete loner Roll Eyes Jeez how did none of us notice this through his close friends such as Beta, Merck, Bas, the band etc [/sarc]

Nobody gets on with everyone. FACT. Axl gets along well with a fair few people.

I know there has to be others out there like myself who do believe that if it weren't coming out this year, The band/label/Merck would have said so by now. There are only 2 wks left, what possibly would make them continue waiting. Sorry, the answer is not tkt sales ! I honestly have no idea how ....but it will be out by year's end...

Since nightmare boy Jarmo deleted my post here it is again. I honestly believe that I'm hearing a different drum truck or different production than the demo mp3 i have. Listen to the buildup before the chorus? listen to the hi-hat during the verses? Am i imagining things?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ax-CIfKt1-E

No dude, that's the same version that's been around for awhile. I mean, I've seen that exact clip from at least 4-6 months back. Hopefully, we'll be hearing a "Better"version of it this Tuesday ...

Maybe it's because my english is not good.  BUT, on the last show, Axl mentionned something about the new album...Something like:

This song WAS gonna be on our next record!

Did he really say...WAS

Cause was is in the past no?

Kinda weird it gets moved to dead horse today when Bach says he knows the date of the release. Oh, well.

Exactly. I thought that I was the only one thinking that. I've never heard anyone say "I know the release date of Chinese Democracy"... very cool to here! I say that's all the more reason to believe that it will be soon !

He said it as a joke. The quote was something like:

"I've learned that I'm supposed to say things like this is a song from our forthcoming album."

i feel well see something before 2006 is over...maybe not the album, but something drastic to get people talking with their families at christmas.  then, once the new year starts it will be all the talk about CD.

I agree.  We'll be sitting around the tree, and I'll say "Hey, Grandma!  Did you hear that Axl's reformed GNR and is soon releasing the much anticipated 'Chinese Democracy' album?"

She'll reply, "OH!  A new record, I'll get out my record player!  Does he play that rock and roll music, like that Elvis whippersnapper, with the vulgar dancing?  Where are my teeth?"

I'll then chime in, "It looks like Grandma's left her teeth in the freezer again!  Yes, Grandma, he does play rock and roll.  But they've since replaced 'vulgar dancing' with loads of needless swearing and overt sexual overtones!"

She'll reply, "In my day, overt sexual overtones only cost $0.38!" hihi
