http://www.fresnobee.com/260/story/18357.html

The relevant quote "The Guns N' Roses fans are not just interested in old songs. They want to hear "Chinese Democracy." I even know when it's coming out, but I can't betray my confidence. "

(got this off cd.com)

Journalists are getting damn lazy these days. No respected Journalist should ever quote from any message board.

I pretty much gave up on 06 when november went by without any info. Hopefully we get something in 07 and hopefully I'll get to see them next year, if they get close to west texas that is. ?smoking

People need to cool down and stop acting like there in control of when Axl and Co. should deliver....
when it comes it'll come, for now hit the show and enjoy peace

Stop all the crying crying crying crying crying crying

see the rest of ya 12-17&20-2006

People aren't acting like they are in control of Axl Co.

Its common sense that they treat fans like shit.

Its a fact they have had a long time to get an album done.

Its a fact that the tour right now is just a greatest hits tour as well. With what 2 new songs? from an album that no one has heard, except for 4 leaks?

Journalists are getting damn lazy these days. No respected Journalist should ever quote from any message board.

Its not lazy, a person from a message board is a source.

A group of sources with an opinion, they are clearly going to get the best quote possible.

How I know, I am taking journalism thanks.

Chinese Democracy Is Coming Some Day!!!

« Reply #7345 on: December 13, 2006, 07:24:10 PM »

"Guns N' Roses, Sebastian Bach
Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, Ohio
Nov. 24, 2006
$350,717
6,757 / 21,319
1 / 0
$77, $39, Live Nation"

From the new weekly Box Offfice over at Billboard.biz
If they want to do a second leg of the tour they better release CD.
Under 1/3 of the tickets sold.
Wow! The place looked much more packed than 6757 people. They did have the upper deck curtained off so the total number of available seats in the arena could be wrong. The public needs CD as much as we do because when they hear the music they will fill the arenas.  Im not gonna bitch but ticket prices could also be slashed.

4/14/2012. MAKE IT HAPPEN.

« Reply #7348 on: December 13, 2006, 07:36:29 PM »

It's just a shame, with the February leaks, the tour, and the cryptic statement about "there are 13 Tuesdays left before the end of the year......", that the album did not come to pass in 2006. Jarmo will probably delete this post like he does my others when being critical, but really, come on.

Another poster hit it right on the head when he said basically that we all get excited for new material, we tell our friends that this is definitely the year for new Guns N' Roses, we spend the money for concert tickets knowing the concert we're buying tickets for could inevitably be cancelled, and then we are all pissed or saddened because the record didn't come out, though it doesn't really come as any surprise.

In 2007, I'll still be a Guns N' Roses fan, but maybe a little bit less of a fan than I have been over the last few years. Axl just can't continue to tease us with this.

2007 or bust, GN'R. 2007 or bust.

Sure, they have a had a long time to work on the CD; however, working on something when you're holed up in a cave and not touring is one thing.

When you are out on the road, seeing and hearing what people actually like, it can probably change your mind dramatically.

Perhaps most important are the experiences that the band has gone through during the tour; finding and hanging out with Ron and Frank regularly, hearing what they can do. Going to all of those European countries and contrasting the music scene there with the U.S. scene.

it's probably enough to make someone rethink some things; song choices, lyrics. even a "perfectionist" who had already decided what the ultimate GNR album should sound like.

Who knows... maybe there were enough people shouting "play Catcher in the Rye" up to the stage or mentioning it in reviews to make GNR or the label want to add it to the first album...... (please? haha)

If I have to wait another 5 months for a summer 2007 release that has a better song or a better version of a song than one that would come out next week, then that is just fine with me. It is very obvious that this isn't a 2002 situation...

US TOUR 2002 / 2007

Similarites

Poor ticket sales
Touring without an album (again)
Playing the same songs (except of course Better, IRS, Used to Love Her and Down On The Farm, You're Crazy)

A shitty website still as useful as the old (see gnronline.com)
Horrible fan interaction
Little if any promotion
Singles: Don't Cry (instrumental does not count, its not the full song) / Estranged still not played.

Differences

No riots (yet)
No jerseys
Two new songs (IRS - Better, TWAT doesn't count was played a few odd occasions)
Two old songs played in the set (Used to Love Her, You're Crazy)
One old cover song played in the set (Down on the Farm)
No Buckethead
No Brain
Ron Thal
Frank Ferrer (sp?)
No CKY or Mix Master Mike
Slash hasn't tried to show up to a gig yet

I wouldn't say the ticket sales have been poor overall.  In some venues, yes, but overall I think the ticket sales have been pretty good.  I don't have figures to back it up, but I would guess the ticket sales have been better this time around than in 2002.  And they have also played "You're Crazy" on this tour.  New from 2002.

Heheh... well, I disagree with some of that, and agree with some. The website has been updated WAY more often than the old one ever was. We actually hear about cancellations and there is information about who GNR is now. Obviously not enough, and no merchandise for sale Sad

But, this tour has not been cancelled; when a show drops, they come back the next night.

Since the topic title now includes "speculation," I will continue to add some Wink Here's hoping that Universal decided they wanted to release both albums of material at the same time, and Frank & Ron contributed to the 5-6 songs that were not yet finished for the second album. !

Agreed, they also have better stage presence, better appearance, better ticket sales, and a better show in general this time around. ?Axl seems much more determined and he sounds much better as well.

I'm Shocked that so many of you put so much Faith in Axl when he said 2006. He's done so many Drugs, he 's probably thinking this is still the 90's  Once the CD is released it will go to #1 but the following week it will fall off the Charts, Word of Mouth will kill it. That's why they are so Scared about releasing it, "The Aftermath Affect" Right now I'll stick with a Great Band from Sweden called "Evergrey" that releases a great new CD each year, plus they rock the socks off Guns n Roses. I'd like to see them beat the Song "I should" off the "Monday Morning Apocalyse" CD. Yes too many Drugs will make you a "LIar". Grow-Up Gun N Roses an act like Adults.

I apologize if this has already been stated but has it been noticed by anyone else that newgnr.com took the whole "...It Is This Year !" line off there homepage. I remember that being posted on the bottom of that page for awhile. I still think that we are now past the calm and are now heading into the storm... 12/19.. it will be here I bet ! Call me crazy, I don't care . smoking
