The CD release date rumor / speculation thread

i know this is not really of interest anymore but the hmv uk site, over the last week or so, had completely taken away everything to do with chinese democracy.? had another look a few mins ago and it is coming up with the 18th dec for release but title deleted (big contradiction).? i know it's hmv and what you read you should take with a pinch of salt but why put it back on again after taking it off?

Sorry. The source was a great database of GNR song info which seems to only exist in Google cache at this time. Hopefully the site is only down temporarily. If you want to hunt through the cached pages, have at it:

Ok fine, I believe  , back to the release rumour!  ...as told already some weird shit is happening. On HMV website, Democracy was listed for release on wed 18th december (europe) for quite a while, suddenly it was removed from the site, and now it's back on it!....

Means someone is busy with it on request of someone else... Can't imagine webstores just put items on their site because some of their employees read messageboards etc.

All they have done if shift the date forward a week, which they will probably keep doing for the next few weeks until they get bored of it. I don't think dates on HMV mean anything at all (going by past experience and their possible motives for putting a date there). I also feel that the BBC site is being blown out of proportion.

Sure, the BBC *NEWS* site is awesome, but technically, it is not the same thing. It could well get data from different sources, using different people, with different criteria than the news site. In fact, it probably does.

Best advice IMO, believe it when the CD is spinning on your CD player and you are hearing it. Until then, trust no one

No it doesn't. The album will be released on a monday in Europe, if you believe Merck. But then again, he's the source for us thinking it will come out on one of the remaining tuesdays of the year, so you should.

18/19th is the last possible (not really ) choice left.

If GNR really wanted to just drop the cd without notice it would be better to go away from the standard release day of Monday in Europe and Tuesday in the states and release it on another day of the week.  That would be a great way to get it out with little or no expectation.  Anyone wanna go with Friday, December 22nd?

Since the release isn't going to be a surprise, I don't think so.
